Based on Bob Leavine’s tweets it may be LFR lol. “Front running team” can be subjective, they run up front at plate races
Would not expect so. Given Mr. Steward's recent investment and Bubba's uptick in performance, I think Bubba will fulfill his contract.Petty?

The quote says a team that runs toward the front of the pack.Petty?
that's what they told us at the start of the season. Bubba has been taking the heat, but LFR running leftovers have been pretty bad, 0 top tens, 4 DNF's ranked 26thWould you really consider LFR a competitive team though?
Interesting how another organization involved with Rob Kauffman is close to stopping operations... I mean, if its really gotten to that point for CGR.
Remember, not long after MWR closed he became an investor into CGR.
I'd suggest pumping the brakes on this flaky rumor. I'm not proclaiming it false, but I am suggesting a degree of intelligent thought should be applied.Canary in the Coal Mine
This was a tough week for this reporter because I heard a whopper of a rumor about a major NASCAR team planning to shut down their operation for next season. While this information came from a usually reliable source I have known inside NASCAR for many years, I refuse to make huge waves based on one single rumor.
While I didn’t want to contact the team mentioned in the rumor yet, I did make a few other calls with my reliable sources within NASCAR and tap-danced around the issue without hearing anything close to a second source for the rumor. But if a Charter-owning team that runs up toward the front of the pack in NASCAR’s Cup Series is thinking about leaving at the end of the year, this move would be a major “Canary in the Coal Mine” for NASCAR.
The charters aren't supposed to save teams, it's to give them some return on their investment if they close.I thought Kauffman was going to save all these teams with the charter system?

The way he races has made New3my favorite MENCS driver after Junior retired.Sure seems like Acorns/Oscar Meyer/Wyndham Rewards has been on the car a lot. I'll have to go check how many have been Roush Performance.
I've been rooting for Newman to make it myself since everybody complains he races hard.
I don't know if they're spending more on the 6 but Ryan has turned a 23rd-25th place car into a top 15 car most weeks. Even Matt wasn't producing this well consistently even if he had a couple good runs.
And make it easier for teams to get sponsorship because they have a guaranteed starting spot for every race. The charters aren't supposed to save teams, it's to give them some return on their investment if they close.
I don't know that I put a ton of stock in any of this rumor, BUT, I think I would believe the Roush rumor before I would the Ganassi one. I also wonder if since Roush is fielding just a fraction of the cars they used to if maybe they just had a great opportunity to sell off a facility that was more than they needed and that they would now move into a smaller one. Roush Fenway may not be setting the world on fire, but I don't buy the idea that they are in financial trouble. In 2017, Forbes estimated Henry's net worth at 2.6 billion, and Jack isn't a pauper either.
got a job?
It's really interesting. Knowing how things work, Seems like there would be smoke if Toyota was building another team and there isn't so far, Levine is a long way from a Barney, or they might do a hatchet job at Gibbs to make room for him there. OR they might want him to stay in the Xfinity series (job). On the other side you have the field. I bet he is getting offers from other teams also. I think Bell knows how to play the game, he has been keeping his mouth shut to the press. About the only thing I can guess about is that the odds are low that he would do another year in the Xfinity series. So that leaves a seat at Gibbs, or driving for a team somewhere else. It could change if the yoters decide to start another team. I personally don't think throwing money at Levine is happening unless we start to see all of these talented guys getting hired there. You think he will find a way out of Toyota? Bob Levine said a second car isn't looking so hot right now. Either Matt D is gone after this year or Bell is in the 95 come next season. I think Levine likes Matt D, so I'm not sure at all. Just more interesting speculation for us all.
Maybe get Kurt in a Toyota cup car after all. After all he did win in a KDB car when Kyle couldn't.I could see Toyota trying to get a team like CGR to switch manufacturers and get the car count up

It sure didn't hurt Joe Gibbs to make the switch. However I think JGR holds the same position with Toyota as HMS does with GM and Jack did with Ford. Ganassi may not be any better off under JGR than he is under HMS.I see what you did there . In all seriousness though I’d love to see Kurt in a Toyota, I think Gannassi is lower on the Chevy totem pole and a manufacturer change would do them good
That's probably what they were discussing at Indy when Chip hired Roger's UberScuter (tm).He may do better under Penski but that is not an option. LOL
I personally think they are just fine staying right where they are. Until the development of Camaro threw all of the Chevy teams off, CGR was arguably almost on par with HMS. Now that they have Kurt Busch in place of Jamie McMurray - right alongside Kyle Larson, no less - I think they can make serious inroads towards getting that elusive Cup, and give HMS a little more competition for the spot of top Chevy team.It sure didn't hurt Joe Gibbs to make the switch. Exactly. Five Camries versus double-digit hordes of the other brands... hmm, now I wonder why?anybody looking to switch to Toyota needs their heads examined right now. Forgot Barney already? And how is their replacement doing over there at Leavine? Does anybody think it is just a driver problem over there?
Like those rumors of Dodge returning you brought to us back in the winter of 17....As a journalism major at one point, I would not dismiss any of these rumors. They won't turn out 100% fact but some have some truth hid somewhere.
