Spencer “Party Like It’s 1989” Gallagher issued Substance Abuse Penalty

I wonder who they are going to get to put into the seat. Like right now it's Wednesday? Dash for cash? I would guess the car/team is disqualified

From winning to losing in one easy step.
I'll never understand why they do it.

Interesting:

FWIW, the listed date for a NASCAR substance abuse violation is the date NASCAR is notified of the failed test -- not necessarily the date the test was taken.

So, he could have failed the test BEFORE he won.

Definitely done before, like NASCAR tested him on Sunday and got the results back immediately? Nah. The Mayfield timeline took a while. So did Allmendinger.

Ryan Sieg is in the D4C now which is cool.
Idk about GMS though. Maybe fan favorite Jonathan Sauter?

Lolololol poor guy. Maybe save the party favors until after you run out of funding?

People who have never got behind the wheel while drinking/substance or texted while driving? Live and learn

Funny how when these guys get caught, it was only a "one time deal". The odds of getting busted the one and only time you do something like this is EXTERMELY slim. I just don't understand why it is so hard for these idiots to play by the rules. Is getting paid to play with race cars for a living not a big enough high for you? My patience for these people has grown VERY thin.

I think I know what you mean here, and I agree. I'll reserve my moral condemnation for other situations, like actual abuses of power. I would say I'm curious about the substance involved, since the list of banned substances is pages upon pages long, but I'm really not, because I don't see how it is relevant. I hope NASCAR's program is well administered, and I hope it helps the young man make better decisions.

How do we know it's not a diluted sample? Perhaps he mixed the wrong medications together? His girlfriend slipped a substance into his food? So many different possibilities!

IMO NASCAR looks like a buffoon on this, the looks of the complete deal just stinks to high heaven. Lets see, Gallagher owns the air lines of NASCAR, kid is suspended after his first race win and talking about partying like its 1999.

WOW NASCAR, maybe you should test the pilots of NASCAR too.

What? I cant make heads or tails of what you just said. How is NASCAR wrong for suspending someone who violated policy?

he has the opportunity to look at and do something about the problem he has. It worked for A.J., didn't for Mayfield.
And even for AJ it has come with a heavy price. The Penske #22 is by far the best ride he's had in his Cup career, and he lost it after just half a season due to a lapse in judgement. Logano has been killin' it in that car ever since, while Allmendinger languishes in mid-pack most weeks in the 47 car.

I am not condoning or criticizing what he did in regards to the illegal substance. BUT, he lost credibility with me when he responded by saying a "this one time error in judgement". I doubt it was one time and even if it was there is no need to make the statement as I think the doubters will outnumber the believers. You could look at it as every decision you make is "one time", so if he PR people think they are being crafty then shame on them.

...and wow, seems out of line to have to participate in the "Road to Recover Program" for a one time event...I realize that is what is required by NASCAR.

Aw, and you believe the 'one time event' story. That's so charmingly naive. Here, have a big glass of cynicism.

Allmendinger failing that test was an INCREDIBLY big break for Joey. No idea where he would be if AJ hadn't done drugs.
