Storage building

Retrieved a wrench from building...must be 130 degrees in there. Need.to put the vents in and maybe leave the fan running. No wonder the shingles are dying. Shut off cable today. 170 bucks month and about to go up in July. I'll get internet only in July. 80ish bucks month after taxes and ridiculous fees.

Man I hate to let this one go. It died a while back and thought I could fix it. Has a fairly complicated board in it. It's done.

Need to report a burgerly. Somebody stole half the trash off my porch! New landlord is getting me a different refrigerator. Had a bunch of recyclable bottles in corner and cardboard that needed to go. All better now!😜

If we don't have another frog strangler this evening immma gonna bust a move on some sheet. Firing up the chainsaw, circular saw, recip saw and any other saws I can find and cutting something. Maybe even some trees.

Almost dark due to overcast. The night-shift neighbor makes getting anything done early in the day impossible. Plus my usual lack of drive doesn't help. Felt like gitting her did today but nope.

Had to do a bunch of grinding on the metal tab to clear the tank bracket. Used 6mm bolts as no room for anything larger. It's all together and makes air with no smoke. Used 175psi shut-off switch. I'm seriously considering swapping everything over to the other 27 gallon tank as this 30 gallon is really awkward to move. HEAVY!!! 30 is shorter & larger dia. but HEAVY and really hard to steer. I don't plan to drive it to Food Lion but still...

Only difference between the two was the shut-off/cycling switch. But the 27 gallon was rated to 200PSI although, for me, that's just scary. I've considered getting an even lower pressure switch. Cycle on 135psi---off 150ish. Built my own pressure regulator as the OG is junk.

Unfortunately now I have to test the nail guns and do some wood butchery.

Inserted wrong picture above. It works until the JB Weld gives up and the broken piece falls out.

Money is inert if you don’t spend it in some way.
Having some left after you have shelter & food is nice. I spent ALL mine from 1980-2020. Now I'm reaping the benefits. There is no disposable income. Everything I spent on this boondoggle was tax return & stimulus money. Shut off cable because that's nearly $200 a month. Going to try to leave it off.

Just remember you ain’t leaving with any of it. 😉

VENTS! Also moved outlet on porch up so don't have to lay down to plug into.

Added 3 gig to phone. Verizon says nothing has changed but I have almost no connection to their network. Why I haven't upgraded service. Need to try a different provider.

Building is a lot cooler but it's still early. Finally stuck my finger in the hornet's nest of a porch roof. Sweet Jesus what a mess. Need to seal the whole trailer roof. More money to spend.

The fresh plywood is just a half sheet I'm using to kneel on to spread the load. I believe they should have made the roof angle match the trailer and not have the about an inch difference in height. I'm cooling off and also letting the goop they had stuffed in warm up so it peels off easier.

Was about a 15" x 14 foot section of something that was just laying on roof. No adhesion at all. Need to scuff/sand/grind trailer roof so whatever goes on it sticks.

Just occurred to me could use torch to help remove some of the old goop. I mean very minimal torch use so I don't burn it down but the warmer it gets the easier it comes off. Sealing a porch roof, to the trailer is about impossible on a mobile home. On this old trailer the J-track that is screwed onto side of trailer is used as a really mini rain gutter. IMO, ultimately, the J-Track should come off and flashing should be run behind it, then over the porch roof. But still have to get roofing material sealed to trailer. I'm just not sure if the peel & stick roofing will adhere to the trailer roof. Ultimate way would be to do porch roof with EDPM run up on trailer 2-3 feet, then EDPM rest of trailer roof. Trailer EDPM would overlap porch. But again, roofs need to match with no big steps to tear/stretch the EDPM over time.

I'll finger this out!

It's a solid 2" difference in height from porch to trailer roof. The porch extends 9.5 foot from trailer. Peel & Stick is 36" wide with 3" overlap. So 4 strips. That would produce an 18" overlap of trailer roof. If it'll stick. I even considered running another 2 or 3 strips on the trailer to help the adhesion.

Decided to rebuild the porch roof. Was built out of 2x4's 16" OC. Looks like a swayback horse. Only nailed together. Going to use treated 2x6 so can change pitch slightly to match trailer. 24" on-center but boxed together at 48" mark. I have a couple new treated 2x6 already so need 6 more 10 foot and one 16 for face board.

We be jammin...got sheeting off and bought lumber. Sleeping beauty goes to bed 10:30-noon. Leaves for work 8ish PM. So 72 degrees with slight breeze this morning let me get something done. I'll hit it again tomorrow cutting out rafters and maybe get the sheeting on.

Used more than 3 gig data in 4.5 days. Yikes. Had to add data to post this and sure appears they are throttling the hell out of it. Slow as dial-up.

Yesterday was perfect example of what being an old man gets you. Worked good 8 hours on porch and can't tell what I accomplished. I am so tired if vet was open I'd volunteer to be put down. Whaàaa! Freaking hot as Hadees. I'm at point of notching/butchering trailer end of rafters. Then it'll be figuring angle for other end. Use grinder with wire brush to prep trailer roof. Toenail in trailer end, attach face board and nail in. Then sheathing, drip edge, roofing. I have actually thrown away three or four things. Ended up covering all the lumber as a little bit of rain is coming. Oddly put about 1/2 the stuff off the porch IN the building and didn't lose any space. Shelves are nice. Sometimes. Mostly make you keep too much junk. I don't recommend 63 year olds spend 1.5 years sitting in a recliner. Ever. Too tired to sleep. This is 100 mile Hate Scramble tired. Where you swear you're never gonna do that again. For about 2.5 days...then you start getting ready for next one. Actually found if I rode hour or so next day, it was like hair of the dog. So maybe I'll spend next couple days walking at Walmart or mall? Do they still have malls?🤔😜😜😜

Hare. Phone didn't like hare. But hate is actually pretty accurate...by the end, hate is what it was. Checkpoint guys would ask "are we having fun, yet"?🤪🤪🤪😂😂😂

Back then race had to be 86 miles to be considered official. Damper ROD forks. LOTS OF ROCKS! LOTS. Imagine driving your air bagged truck with broken compressor. Over 86 MILES OF ROCKS AT DESERT RACING SPEED!!! IT SUCKED. AND I MISS IT SO BAD! It hurt so good.

Still up. Drove to two different Waffle House. One door was locked. Guy that was dumping trash said they'd open at 5:30 but wouldn't be cooking until 6. Ummmm? Their definition of open is different from mine. Went to second location. Lights on, workers cars in lot, nobody in sight. I waited about 10 minutes then came back home and fried couple eggs, toast, bacon I already had cooked.

My feet feel like I dropped a 50 foot 2x6 on both. Didn't. Whaaaaa! I should use new recip saw on this damn recliner!

Something I saw on Tim Allen's show with Richard Karns, was a young kid that converted a high-wall enclosed trailer (tag pull, 8' walls and about 28' long) into an ultimate mobile workshop. Was pretty damn awesome.

Replaced my more than 2 year old phone. Got another of same thing but 2021 version. Moto G Play on Verizon Unlimited prepaid plan. Have almost no signal in trailer. Complained to Verizon but they say can't do anything about it. Will use phone for 60 days, then it unlocks, and try Boost Mobile or T Mobile. Figured no point in buying 5G phone when it's not available around here anyway.

Signed up for cheap AT&T internet for poor folk. Maybe 10 bucks month. Whole thing was a bunch of smoke & mirrors. 10 bucks if you use 100gig on Tuesday or Thursday, additional 5 bucks if you wear green socks, etc. I mean seriously, the plan details made NO sense. Could be 768meg or 1.5T. Could have 150 gig limit or unlimited. Or cost 5 bucks for every 50 gig over ??????? They didn't get any billing info yet so nothing ventured. Will hear in couple days what the options actually are.

Tried doing a little buffing on roof this morning. 4" grinder with cup brush. Dangerous on a ladder. Went to Hazzard Fright and got a couple softer brushes for drill. Think I can control that better. Once I get roof prepped time to hang some rafters. Don't even have to use ladder.
