Storage building

I'd really prefer to put wheels on all the benches. That's around $60. Probably have to just replace the blade on current circular saw. Gonna end up spending $120ish dollars on tools minimum. Need to call Spectrum. They have started a new 100mb download internet deal @ 29 month. I am eligible for FREE internet thru Gov broadband plan.

Was a time you could find some take-out kitchen cabinets for next to nothing to build something like this. Not anymore. If any are available they want you to remove without damaging plumbing or want $2-500. I have 95% of the wood to build it myself.

Bought a 7-1/4" blade @ Lowes. Ordered couple clamps & pocket hole jig from Amazon. Been trying to stretch lower back so can move. Not good. My hips won't move, they lying. Shakira I'm not.

Really need to hack up the lumber on my trailer and get rid of it. Not really looking forward to it.

Really need to hack the stuff on the trailer into smaller chunks. Then could use trailer as a work surface. Have managed to get up before 8AM three days in a row. Even showered!

Trip to Harbor Fright for couple small clamps & 2 hinges. I know I have some hinges somewhere but not gonna spend 2 hours hunting them.

I'm trying. Just found need box of screws. I could nail it together but would rather not. Constructed a Rube Goldberg bench of sorts so could unload stuff on old toolbox. Just trying to avoid bending over to pick stuff up. I swear the miter saw has gained weight!🤪

One of main reasons for wanting a good bench is need to disassemble main AC unit and see what died in one of the fans. It doesn't smell like something died in it, just sounds like there's something in the fan or a bearing is going out. AC is only maybe 3-4 years old. Then while it's out, going to build angle iron bracket to support it and fabricate a board that fits the shape of the bottom so it's completely sealed in the window. Gonna try to use plumbing insulation foam. The round stuff that looks like a pool noodle. Set up the shade maker so my neck won't get so burnt. Pictures of the mess of tools/crap that's been on porch covered up. Some goes in main tool box, some will be given away, some will get thrown away.

So...now get to disassemble it about 1/2 way and fix my mistakes. I really suck at this. Intended to have it 24" wide and top be 26ish. Assembled it incorrectly...too wide for the space I have. Crawling around on the ground is absolute torture.

Narrowed it up. Need to rip the 3/4 plywood I'll use for a top. Laid couple scraps of T11 on it to see how pretty it isn't. 2x4's are straight as a dog's leg. She's a little wobbly. But the porch Probably isn't all that flat either. Probably cover the slats on the railing to get it semi dried in. Thinking about notching the upper stringer and putting piece of 2x8 in across bench under top to mount vise. I love me a vise. Really. Never know what I'll stick in it.

Ordered another pocket hole jig. Got a Kreg system this time. The other one was worthless. The bits were too short to make it work on anything thicker than 3/4". Had zero instructions. $14 purchase that I knew better than to try. Or guess I didn't. Whatever.

Need to add some bracing to bench so can cut away front top stringer for miter saw swing to 45*. That's why I want the pocket hole jig. Can do it another way but...meh. I need to do a little repair to wall under back window of trailer at some point. Pocket holes are way to go for that. Kreg kit was $40 with some screws.

It's tempting to just set the miter saw on the bench top and build a temporary outfeed box/support. When cutting wood, set box on bench to support wood. Take it off and hang it up rest of the time. Originally wanted to make the saw fold down. About gave up on that idea. Bench has to be too high for that. I have 30ish length inseam and don't like having to strain to lift stuff above waist level. The bench right now is 3" taller than I really need. Easy enough to shorten legs.

Woulda sworn it said Kreg tool was being delivered today. Tracking shows hasn't shipped. Delivery by 10PM tomorrow. Been doing a bunch of stretching on the back. Walked about mile today. Back isn't real happy right now. Not bad but not good.

Enjoyed the Anole/Chameleon video. Had some of those as pets when I was a kid and they were very tame. Still remember the first batch I got came in a root beer pop can with some moss in it. 4 for a dollar plus shipping. Came from South Carolina maybe?

While they supposedly don't hear like we do, since I started talking to them, seeing a bunch more coming out and getting really close to me. Like "hey, how YOU doing"?

Woke up feeling like I weigh 1000lbs. Takes all the strength I have to stand up. Pelvis is rolled so looks like my butt fell off. Military posture is what they call it.

Really need a mattress. That sure seems to be where my issues come from. Need to go buy a lottery ticket...

Amazon doesn't even know it's lost. It says shipped but the "out for delivery" button hasn't changed for 2 days. Says will be delivered by 10PM tonight. Can't deliver if it never got on the truck.

It'll show up Sat or Sunday. Back is too fubar to do anything anyway.

So...it's 10 minutes from me but won't likely get delivered until tomorrow. At least the tracking is working now. Stiff happens.

We’re very sorry your delivery is late. If you have not received your package by April 25, you can come back here the next day for a refund.

It says it's in Garner. I can almost throw a rock 3 times and hit Garner. Almost.

I suspect they "lost" a whole truck load of packages. Probably thousands of late packages just from ONE truck losing communication with the mothership.

After looking for extra drill bits, it seems, the new style bits like pictured are not well received. Lots of users are buying off-brand bits with regular drill bit style drive section. Lots of broken bits but I suspect drilling hardwood. Which I won't be doing. Well shall see. Eventually.

The idea with the new style bits is it's marked for depth position for different thickness material. You move the collar for different thickness wood. The problem is the collar set screw tends to work loose & strip fairly quickly when moved from size-to-size. Guys recommend buying several bits and leaving the collar set. Makes sense to me.

We shall see. Again...eventually.:moon:

As The Stomach Turns: <who gets that reference?>

Arriving today 11:15 AM - 2:15 PM

Actually has the live map up for this delivery. says 8 stops away.

Watching Marj 3 Toes thing in Georgia. Appears to me the judge has already decided before they've gotten a good start. She came back from lunch pissed off. Much more combative on the stand.

They trying to get her removed from the ballot. Ain't gonna happen. Our free speech laws make just about anything "legal".

If they had machined a very small notch in the shank where the collar set screw is supposed to be located, it probably wouldn't tend to loosen. The collar has a window to see where it's supposed to be set. The groove would have been a positive stop.

People that voted like I did do the right thing. The others would have kept it or sold it.

Some assembly required. Starting over. Somehow when assembled it was twisted so one leg was at least 1/4 short. Need to get rid of old roof so going to take several loads on my truck. The dump has gotten really picky about construction debris. Anywho...the finished height doesn't matter that much but prefer under 36". I'm 5'9" with 31ish inseam. Lifting something like air conditioner onto bench is better if you don't have to bend over backwards that last bit. Gonna try to use the plywood on trailer as a work surface, stick some blocks on to make sure all the stuff is square.
