Still thinking about doing something.

Going to encapsulate the mounts for the 2x8's for platform. Have them so can slide them in/out. Will use them as scaffolding for roofing. Need to slide them in on side putting OSB on roof. Don't want to cut them because of above.

When working on my cobbled mess must have head on a swivel. Lots of ignorantly place things to hit. Problem is, more I move my head the wobbler I get. Not exactly dizzy just lack balance. Probably will resolve after death. Got something from Amazon. My first hooker too.

Got the platform 2x8 so they move. Didn't have to climb for that. Probably should add another at back of old shed. Will need it soon.

Had removed a 2x6 diagonal from back wall as thought didn't need it. Working on moving the platform 2x8's showed me...SHE BE LITTLE WOBBLY MY MAN. Not much but definitely wasn't that solid. So...put it back in place and shot several nails in. Haven't done anything since 11:00AM. Head is little fubar. Seems looking up is the main trigger.

Really think when go back to work gonna peel the old roof off so can set rest of rafters. Once figure out the OSB lift, the install of all 22 feet will happen really quick. Then little drip edge and roll the peel & stick underlayment on. Just hope it's still good and not permanently stuck to protective film. It's kinda like applying stickers. Peel the backing and try to get on without bubbles/ripples. It will get nailed at top edge where it overlaps. The steep sides WILL slide off in hot weather if not nailed. Or so I'm told.

My head feels funny. Not in a laughing about it way. Bleh.

Finished extending the wires to the winch remote. Technically a no-no but it was waaay too short. I want it so you can go hide around the corner. For what I'll use it for won't be pulling any load/amps. Did a bunch of minor stuff been avoiding. No climbing. Look like I been in the whiskey just walking on flat ground.

Bleh. Next is...maybe...rip the old roof off. When I can stand up and not feel like I might puke.

Put everything back on trailer and covered it. So pizzed off. Just can't do anything that requires any head movement. Need to trim the OSB so fits the roof. 47" & 44" ish. Started to do but even walking around/looking down makes me wobbly. Not spinning with vertigo, just off balance. Think will try stacking 3 sheets, use 4th as a guide. Clamp them together with top sheet offset 4 & 1/4 + however much need removed to guide circular saw. Poormans track saw.

Pulse rate is usually in the 70s so something not right.
Maybe a vacuum leak & running little lean? Still managed to stuff the little A/C in the bedroom window. Should get rid of that headboard & vanity mirror & build shelves. I put the AC on some totes beside the bed so not much lifting. If build shelf, could just slide it out & over? In cold weather can feel the air just rolling in on my old dome. So pull it out and put the window back together.

Gable is ready to install siding. Maybe. Liked to have had room to slide a piece of plywood thru a door. Got tired of messing with it and just framed it 24 o/c. Might redo it. Not dizzy today. At least not worse than my best day.

OK. After some consideration, will remove two middle verticals, put two sheets on with overlap centered, then frame in two doors about 25" wide each. Have 50" wide doorway so if nothing else can easily store spare sheet goods and lumber. I knew soon as I put the screws in the "middle" two boards it was wrong. Well? Maybe not exactly wrong but certainly not what I really wanted.

Yes, more overthinking. Didn't feel too wobbly today. Let's see what we have tomorrow. If I could put in a good 8-10 hour day be ready to put roofing on. Mainly need to cut bunch of sheet goods to size. Can stack and cut 3-4 sheets at a time. Need to shorten all the siding to 6.5-7ish foot. Need to narrow the OSB roof sheathing to 47" and 44ish. Need to figure-out the layout of all the sheets. Like to have 5-6 inch overhang on the ends. Good thing about stumbling into 22 foot length but I still ain't calculated it correctly. Can't see any way to get the offsets they want unless scab the overhangs. I believe the outer legs of rafters, being so steep, can get away with scabbing it. Won't hold any snow due to angle.

I gots no idea what I'm doing.

Need to get it laid on a flat surface and finish it off. Kinda got lost toward the end and cut 4 short boards I didn't need. Box in a box wasn't intended. Might even just kinda start over and have doors on outside of siding like the current doors. Lunch and some overthinking to do. Making it so it doesn't direct water in is main concern.

One thing figured-out, since will have nine 12" x 48" pieces after all siding is cut down, use one of those for peak section. Leave it off until truss is set. That way can do it like I did the other by lifting with something wrapped around at peak. Put that piece of siding on after truss is completely in place.

Guess they didn't. Let's try again!😉 Still have to cut them into two sections.

Looks like a 14 hour day today. Didn't work all 14 but at least four, maybe 5 or 6? Got at least hour of work done. About my normal.

Actually had a pretty productive day for me when comes to carpentry work. Need to verify the mini-door build to see how bad I miscalculated. Absolutely certain I did. Hopefully trim will fix it.

I been getting it did. Next step is to be brave enough to cut the doors free and install the hinges. Or cut where hinges go, install hinges, cut rest free. That sounds like makes most sense. Think figured out way to use drip edge/inside-out/upside-down/and backwards as a gutter of sorts over the upstairs door. When putting small corner pieces of siding on stumbled onto the trailer (covered with white plastic) was exactly same height as the work bench. Rolled it out and made it soooo much easier.

The yellow on the bench is pollen. Need to give the whole acre a good blow job...with the air compressor nozzle!!! Only one known mistake cutting today. Luckily wasn't a body part. Fairly minor issue. Some silicone caulking will fix it right up.

Lunch then decide if brave enough to rip the old roof off. Supposed to be some rain coming. I've wasted solid week of dry weather. Head has finally pretty much straightened out.

Or as straight as it's likely to get.

Roof is loosage. Now to decide if tie it to my truck and gun it out into the field?😃🤣😃 Used a homegrown 4x4 and floor jack. Was ton more work moving 78 packs of shingles and other junk than the roof pushing. But it's ready to flip. Seriously thinking about doing just that. Attach chain & winch to back of truck and flip it over/off.

How many of those sheds you building right now? 🤔
Unfortunately one. I'd definitely starve doing these flat-rate. Big thunder boomer pending. Removed board over door that has latch so use the new gable to hold it closed. No reason I won't have all the truss/rafters set tomorrow and at least some of the sheathing.

This guy is absolutely meticulous about his construction technique. At 56:49 he explains how he makes drip edge of sorts. I don't have the tooling for that. Need a table saw and the skills to use it while retaining all your digits. Not talking about bank account either.

The other thing is, i'm nearly half your age and in absolutely no hurry. Just this spring did I bite the bullet and buy the rest of the materials I needed. I can't believe it's actually been 4 years since I got the shed. Just got semi-serious about changing roof/expanding it last year. Fact I sat down and did absolutely nothing from March 2020 to middle of 2021 hasn't helped my ability to do anything now. I DID rebuild porch roof spring/summer of 2021 but then again, sat in recliner since.

Right now have feet in a "spa" dealio of sorts which mainly just makes bubbles. Says heat/bubbles but their definition of heat is different than mine. Maybe 5 ish hours of standing/walking around about kills my feet now. But I'm gaining. Slowly.

Appears we gotz the booming without the dampage. It was making noises that skeer'd me about walking around outside. We hit it again tomorrow morning. If flip the roof off without OSHA busting me/no injuries, should have the truss set & some OSB on by noon easily. We shall see.

I will definitely spend the time dragging the workbench out to cut the sheathing to size. That worked fantastic.

Dribbling now. I can hear the drip, drip, drip of gonorrhea...wait? I mean RAIN on the window A/C. I should make an awning of sorts for that to fend off the rain? Maybe if I ever finish this darned shed I'll do that.
