Storage building

Blew the saw apart. Some of it under the big rolling bench, some under folding table, some ON the bench. I think it's 16 bolts to nearly fully disassemble. Have to decide whether to build something to semi-permanently attach casters or build it into a bench. The cast iron top is 80% of the weight! Removed the motor from the mount to make it easier to get to the belt. Once had cover off belt, old one looks better than the new. Blew the dust out and put the cover back on.

Supposed to have brushes (again) tomorrow.

And my train of thought derailed. Watching "mods" race at Eldora.

It. Blowed. Up.

And yes...everything is covered in dust. For now, if get the correct brushes, will reassemble & build some sort of rolling base. The casters on the stand are junk. Then build a temporary platform at side doors so can roll it outside to use it.

Got the kit with 20 brushes of different types. One is almost correct. Finally after much searching...stuck them in the vise and ground about .060" off one side. FITZ! Spent way too much time messing with the saw when really needed to be doing other stuff. Did get the side door overhand constructed. Not exactly what I planned but it'll work. We gonna sling shingles tomorrow afternoon. Let's do this thing!

Man this board gets my goat. Obviously I like posting pictures. Not sure how/where/when it went sideways (literally) but sideways it has gone. Really frustrating. Creating other side overhang and have a hybrid type for rear gable.IMG_20251023_094209657_HDR.jpg

This is the rear overhang. Two 2x4 form an L. Finally figured out what to cut the lower end to as for angle. Cut to 43 inch length on long side then make 1/2 ish inch cut at 90 degrees to the 22.5 degree...anybody else confused? Accidentally found it when putting one of them in vise. It slid down and set on the bench on that 22.5 angled end. Like getting slapped up side the noggin. When setting on wall, sheathing is a 24 degrees from vertical. Wall is at????? Was a trick question. Technically it's at 0 degrees...from vertical. Or 90 degrees from top plate. I'll sneak up on it tomorrow. Trim little here, trim little there, cut 3 times and it's still too short deal.

While certainly overthinking this last part, out of 2x4's & money until the 3rd. Supposed to get inch of rain Monday. REALLY need to get this finished. Quite likely don't need to worry about that end angle. Just make it reach from here to there. From top edge of side overhang board too first peak which theoretically is 43ish inches.

Did I mention how much I suck at this stuff?

Put too much salt on my eggs this morning. Bleh. In the trash they went. No Hardee's till next month. I. BE. BROKE! Next month is buy new glasses month! Probably get $115 pair from Zenni and then save for the high-dollar pair from eye Doc. Lens are 600 ish bucks. Thier cheap lens 400ish. OUCH! After cataract strategery. Oh...she says the left eye's "sack" is yellowing. Secondary Cataract is what they call it. Lens is in a capsule (think sammich baggie) and they carve a small hole, suck out old lens, insert/stitch in new. Once healed the back of that capsule tends to yellow. They nuke a hole in it. All better then.

Man those eggs were awful. Bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh.

Neighbor got home around 4:30 and was ready to sling some shingles. I said...you're drunk. Go home. He was in fact NOT drunk but I was too tired to touch anything. Tomorrow morning we finish this beach.

Then I get to sort thru all my junk. I'd guess close to 70% will get thrown away.

Roof is done. Bought 12 packs shingles from a guy, guess they fell off a truck, and had it calculated perfectly except...one pack was 3 tab. Two shingles short. Fortunately the neighbor had a few. Little different color but I ain't racist. The brown ones are on top at rear. It's almost always in the shade so even a reconnaissance flight will never see it. Now to sort the junk and decide how to arrange the remaining stuff. May wait till first of month and get some grey paint for the floor?
