Storage building

Put the pallet structure in the shed as think may be some rain coming. Six loose 46" 2x4 pieces with at least 4 more on the structure plus I think four eight foot 2x4's. Of course the pallet boards are junk. They just split and fall apart. Half dozen or so 24 ish 2x4's. Definitely enough to be worth the 45 minute trip. Less than two gallons gas. Need to find Phillips bit for driver to disassemble as main structure is screwed together. Will drag outside to finish disassembly.

Phone doesn't do it justice.

Got the pallet mostly torn down. Hate the Phillips screws. Probably cut slats with circular saw on base as really tough to pry off. They just spit into small pieces anyway.

Neighbors trailer burning this morning. Fire department is 1.5 miles away. Took 10 minutes for first person to get on site. Appears to have started in living room where TV was plugged in. Said TV & cable box went off, smelled smoke so unplugged everything. Then one of them saw flames shooting out the wall onto front porch. Grabbed important papers and the kids and out the door. Burned up about 12-15 foot section of one side. Was surprised they saved that much. Lost their dog.

Turns out our FD doesn't have a water tanker. Had to connect to a hydrant nearly 200 yards away. Whole bunch of 6 ish inch line. I mean if the fires origin had been inside the trailer it would have burned slam down before the FD got on site. 90% of the damage is on the porch and from where they ripped the metal off to get to the wall framing at floor level. There is a word for that spot but my brain hasn't retrieved it. Allllmost... it's right there but can't quite reach it...

Rim joist? Think that's it. I'm amazed it didn't burn all the way down.

AI says: A rim joist is a structural board that runs along the perimeter of a building's foundation, connecting the ends of floor or roof joists and providing support. They are crucial for the structural integrity of a building, as they offer lateral support to prevent the structure from twisting and provide a solid base for attaching walls and floors. Rim joists are essential for energy efficiency and can be insulated to prevent air leakage and moisture intrusion.

Park owner says he thinks rebuilding the existing trailer is the quickest way to get back in. Getting permits to move another trailer in takes 6-12 months. Have a guy that was given 3 or 4 of the trailers here with understanding he's fix them up. He did. Look like brand new. Rewired/plumbed/HVAC/rafter type 4-12 roof/vinyl or aluminum siding. I mean really quality work. But he owned them and I'm not sure if is renting them out or sold them? I'll ask the land owner. Assumed was renting but not sure.

Possible buying ANOTHER table saw. Delta with external motor currently set for 220V. Says has issue with blade raising mechanism. I need something to do. It's nearly in SC below Fayetteville. Waiting for a reply on address & when can pickup.

Trying to talk myself out of this. These old saws really aren't worth much. Our society is so much about having the newest shiny object instead of the best quality.

And I woke up at 2:32AM. Flopped for an hour then just got up. Waiting for Hardee's to open. I have eggs. I have pork chops alreay fried in the fridge. I want gravy. If I avoid buying that saw can afford to eat gravy rest of the month. I LIKE GRAVY!

Had toof cleaning appointment for 11AM. Was in the torture chamber by 11:03. They don't mess around. Did yearly x-rays sitting in the chair. Sweet! I mentioned little pain in one spot from the coldish water. Had dentist take a look. She looked...looked at my dental coverage...YOU NEED FOUR FILLINGS UNDER THE OTHER FILLINGS WE DID! ???????????????????????????????

Got home just before 2PM. They did two of the filling right on the spot. GET THAT MONEY! Suggested a crown but last one didn't make it a year. Suggested partial plate. Meh...I'll think about it. Be for upper as I guess back 3 or 4 are gone on both sides.

I know nothing about dentures. Assume have to remove and spot peen every night? I don't eat anything that require much chewing except occasional pork chops. Not a steak eater. It's OK just not my favorite thing.

Decided to pass on the saw. Only reason I'd buy it is to fix and sell. See above post. My guess is, by spring, you won't be able to sell anything. Nobody gonna have ANY disposable income. Plus be half dozen wars going on.

We domed folks.

Dentist was hacking & coughing. She was wearing a mask but...i'm getting a sore throat. I rarely get one or even a headache. Probably gave me Melania. Or something like that.

Changed oil in my truck & greased it. HATE using a grease gun lying on the ground. 5w30 Mobil One High Mileage Extended Life 20K Mile stuff. Usually go 7500 miles but since drive tons of short trips should cut that back to 5K.

Bought the rails for that cheapish fence. Ebay. $75 after tax for full setup including the mounting hardware. Free shipping. Says be here by Saturday but considering the season I'll not hold my breath.

Well...may be going after a propane heater for the shed. Guy is claiming really needs the money. Pembroke NC. I told him he's waaaay too cheap. Take it to a pawn shop and get twice his price. Yes...I'm THAT stupid. Six brick heater. Those things will heat ba cathedral. I think 30K BTU.

I'll check back with him around noon and if he's made no attempt, guess I'll go get it. I have two 100lb propane tanks. It's connected to a heater in my trailer for emergency heat. So can just move one to the shed. Outside the shed.

Got it. 22k btu. This type with the firebrick is definitely my favorite. Gave him 100 bucks for it. He offered to let it go cheaper but his family been thru the ringer this year. Took it apart and cleaned it up. Connect it to tank tomorrow see if it works.

Didn't do anything today. Not sure why. I'm thinking laziness. Hope to do the same for 30 more years.

Table saw fence guide rails will be here tomorrow according to FedEx. Really need to rearrange the "table saw corner" & do something with the junk Delta. Possibly fully disassemble so can sell parts on eBay? Need to build a 5' x 24" mobile bench for the 25 dollar jobsite Delta and mount the "new" fence system to that. If that works probably sell the Craftsman. Really don't need 2 or 3 of them. I now know buying a NEW cheap jobsite saw to build a mobile bench around is likely the best way to go. Once get that built, modify the bathroom vanity into an outfeed/assembly table. Want everything to be 5'x 24" so can line them up down one wall. Maybe just add a folding wing to the back of the vanity to make it big enough for assembly table.

Once stir the saw junk around search thru the half dozen large totes that has too much junk in them. Ummmm? Think I emptied couple of those? Need to clean off/straighten out the loft spaces. Mostly has lumber/OSB/trim boards scattered around. Once arranged move the totes upstairs and maybe one of the plastic shelves.

Still done nothing. FedEx says package on the way.

Got it. Of course the one I bought is missing couple parts. Should have bought from different seller that had a better picture. There is a plastic piece that connects the tubing. It's missing. Also one piece of angle is missing. The angle doesn't matter as readily available although might not even use it on that side anyway. Think just let fence set on outfeed table surface. Meh...will see. Think I have piece of that size angle?

Surprisingly already got a response. He viewed some other listings and sees what I'm looking for. Says will see if he can find it and if so will ship immediately. Really didn't expect to hear so quick. Be fairly surprised if he finds it tho.

The more modern/better version of this style fence system has a 6ish foot 2x3" tube. One solid tube that is bolted to a 3x3 piece of angle. This one is welded to the angle iron and is 1.5x2 inch.

And no, haven't touched the heater. Need some hardware to plumb the gas line. Also need to refill one of the tanks. Think will get a bulkhead connector to go thru the wall. Possibly build a lean-to type roof at rear wall to cover the propane tank, air compressor and possibly a dust collection system. Thought would use a temporary/knockdown type of deck surface to get the dust outside. Or not. Probably end up plumbing a dust collection dealio outside instead.

Could make the folding section with the removable part deep enough for miter saw. Interesting. Make it so just slide the miter saw in and bolt down. Or just build a couple box sections to set on when needed. Too many options.
