They tried. NASCAR’s template is just too restrictive & outdated. Longer you look the worse it gets.
I always thought that Dodge looked like a damn aardvark.Looks a hell of a lot better than this..............
Looks identical except for the splitter which is understandable. They tried. NASCAR’s template is just too restrictive & outdated. Longer you look the worse it gets.
The nose really has some kickout from that angle.
It never looked like a Camaro in the first place, just a SS in different garb. That look is awesome. Gotta love Ryan Blaney, he's a very likeable personality
Agreed. Also, it's harder to see the lines of the car when it's not painted/wrapped. If you look closely at Elliott's car above, you'll notice the updated quarter panel. Tough to really notice without a glossy paint job.
For sure!Looks a hell of a lot better than this..............
The splitter, the front air dams, the size of the c pillar, the wheel wells (especially the rear), the squared edges rather than rounded, etc...Looks identical except for the splitter which is understandable.
Its a race car, not a street car so of course some of those things are different and the quarter panel "shelfs" are done like that on purpose for aerodynaymics. I was talking mainly about the nose which was the change made. For sure!

Its a big step in the right direction from a design & creative perspective but that body shape is a far cry from a Camaro ZL1.
Yeah, that one is going over so many heads...
The ZL1 is a mass produced race car out of the factory. Its a race car, not a street car so of course some of those things are different and the quarter panel "shelfs" are done like that on purpose for aerodynaymics. I was talking mainly about the nose which was the change made.
Its not a race car out of the factory, not even close. A Muscle car, but not a race car.The ZL1 is a mass produced race car out of the factory.
This is simply Chevy emulating the ZL1 for NASCAR’s version of a race car.
In my opinion it doesn’t look great, but it is leaps & bounds the best looking gen6 design we’ve seen since the Charger.
Baby steps...
Take a look at the GT4.R for the ideal Camaro race car on the track.

Shows you do not know much about it then. Its not a race car out of the factory, not even close. A Muscle car, but not a race car.
Agreed. 6.2L V8 out of the Z06 and lapped Nurburgring at 7:29:60.Respectfully disagree. For a street production car that you can go out and buy from your local dealer, it's pretty close. Just look at some of the cars it beat at Nurburgring. Better yet, look at the capabilities of the ZL1 1LE.
Either way, "track car" is much more appropriate than "muscle car" IMO.
Yup, and the gen 4s did put on good races.I don't care if they look like Lee Iacocca's boxed K cars, as long as they put on good races.
You know Nascar would never allow that hood and the splitter works better on the race car. They tried. NASCAR’s template is just too restrictive & outdated. Longer you look the worse it gets.
You go bring one from the factory and I'll blow you out into the weeds. Then we will see who knows how much.Shows you do not know much about it then.
Agreed. 6.2L V8 out of the Z06 and lapped Nurburgring at 7:29:60.
It is not stripped down for weight and doesnt have added safety features for strictly racing, but it is a ‘made for the track’ car available to the public.
Bless your heart. You go bring one from the factory and I'll blow you out into the weeds. Then we will see who knows how much.
WeakBless your heart.
This isnt a “me vs you” debate, that is stupid and childish on the internet. Go to the Podium if you want to revel in online barbarism.Weak
Its about you calling a factory car, a race car and me telling you its not then you saying I dont know what I'm talking about. Yes I do.This isnt a “me vs you” debate, that is stupid and childish on the internet. Go to the Podium if you want to revel in online barbarism.
If you want to get back to talking about race cars, I’m game. Otherwise you can be petty on your own.
Can’t know the limits till you break ‘em. One way to do it.
It was pretty froggy in the A.M. might have had a slick spot. Needs more wind tunnel. Rev broke it.
Well yeah.Gotta keep my TRD powered '18 Toyota Camrys in front...by any means you know.....
I think it has win on Sunday buy on Monday potential. Here is great angle that shows the changes made to the side for the Camaro , from JTG Racing's Twitter,
It does look a hell of lot better than the SS for sure.I think it has win on Sunday buy on Monday potential.
Personal opinion of course, I disagree, if we are comparing that year Charger to the same year Camaro, hands down Charger, but I am not a person that likes Camaro's or Mustangs.Looks a hell of a lot better than this..............
Decals are not needed to say what make and model it suppose to be, one can clearly see that it is a Camaro. So long on the short, agreed with your statement. It’s very easily identifiable.
Personal opinion of course, I disagree, if we are comparing that year Charger to the same year Camaro, hands down Charger, but I am not a person that likes Camaro's or Mustangs.
Now, lets use the current year Charger to compare with the current year Camaro, only fair right?
It seems that I missed that part, but you are correct, it was not very close to the production Charger, but neither were the Ford and Chevy's , although they were a heck of a lot closer than the Charger for sure.I was simply comparing the closeness of the current Camaro race car vs. the actual production car, and the "Charger" race car circa 2007 vs the production counterpart. That hideous thing that they tried to pass off as a Charger looked nothing like the actual car.
It does look a hell of lot better than the SS for sure.
