They will have to consider the fans making it to the track and their safety.Just me but I would think rain, sleet or snow would be more of a problem than cold temperatures.

NASCAR reportedly meeting to review and make a decision, with rescheduling likely. Could be next weekend, or possibly mid-week.
Some Bubba just posted on his “Inside Racing” that the race will be run on Tuesday Feb 10th.
Somebody cue the circus music and clown cars…
So, what is your solution? This is the dumbest approach I’ve seen in a while. They must think elves are going to light 1000 campfires and keep the polar air mass from its approach…and block the moisture also![]()

If they cared about the folks about to travel there (fly, drive, etc) as well as the teams, recognize the reality and reschedule. The 10 day forecast is continuously very cold, but not much a snow/ice scenario past this weekend. On the other hand, they seem to be treating this like any other race situation, when rain is likely. Just get there, set up, and delay if necessary until you get it in. But this facility doesn’t have facilities like normal tracks. So, what is your solution?

That IS a great book. Highly recommended. If you haven't read the book, "The Beast", I highly recommend it. Roger Penske is a madman. Love him!
It really is....,maybe one of my all time favorites. Are you kidding me? Building that thing in a secret garage? I get the money thing, etc.; but Penske did this as an engineering exercise. The loophole wasn't supposed to work, but he made it work. Incredible. That IS a great book. Highly recommended.
Snow or no snow, it's going to be downright cold. They should call it off.
It won't. There is no point.Extreme cold.
Winston Salem could get two feet of snow and blizzard conditions if that storm goes inland.
This race does not need to happen.

Move it to Florida for a full week of racing before the 500. Could run smaller track nearby if possible
Temperatures will be 25° or below the entire weekend. You would think the jet dryers could get rid of the snow pretty quickly. How far the water gets before refreezing is another question.
The track. pits and parking lots are cleared off as we speak. They are ready to go in that area. They are still calling for snow on Saturday though. You would think the jet dryers could get rid of the snow pretty quickly. How far the water gets before refreezing is another question.
Say, "Hi!" for me!I mean, it could still happen.
I could also end up going out with Sophie Cunningham on Valentine's Day.
