This week on Door Bumper Clear

Not to defend Kyle Busch, but he’s normally top 5 in vote getting for MPD. See him on the list all the time when it’s like “top 5 vote getters in no particular order.” So like him or not, he’s at least near the top of popularity.

Kyle Busch could walk on water, and people would say it's because he can't swim...

I’m sure they are drivers you would do this with, it happens. Stuff like that, and talent and Yada yada is all opinion based. Plus I see a lot of people give him credit for things, but dislike his attitude.

But that’s kinda different than something where you got a popularity contest to look at to give the fact he’s a top 5 popular driver. They can’t really argue that.

I will say this....and this might shock some.....I don't buy into the 9 favoritism thing with NASCAR. I just don't.
It doesn't exist. They've been penalized a double digit amount of times going back to his 2nd year in the 24. I remember Chicago 2017 when they found the tape on the spoiler in the playoffs lol.

I spend 80-90 minutes a day in my car and just can't bring myself to listen to podcasts or talk shows. I have to have music on.

I could get a ton of these podcasts I want to listen to knocked out in that time.

I'm not a podcast person at all. Just wanted to let you know where it's available if you were interested. But I suppose my daily YouTube use is as bad as any Podcast habit. Spend several hours a day on YT. Nothing else to do though. TV stays on OTA channel 12-16hrs day. Maybe hit MSNBC/CNN couple times a day for less than an hour.

I spend more time on YouTube than everywhere else combined. Unless there's a major news story going on, then my TV is glued to MSNBC.

This Randy Lanier episode of the Dale Jr Download is absolutely wild.

My man had a 165,000 pounds(!!!) of pot floatin through the ocean headed to San Francisco while he’s racing the Indy 500.

This week is the drunk/hungover Freddie Craft show. He's a complete mess at the beginning but rallies at the end to make sense.
Group consensus is Richmond doesn't need a second race. The idea is second races split the tickets sold for both events, better to have one and make it a hot ticket. No word on Kurt's return and that is troubling.

I know Brett and Freddie’s constant references to drinking and getting drunk all the time is amusing to some, but I grow weary of it. They’re grown ass men with adult jobs and adult responsibilities. Act like it.
Fireball and Big Al's on infinite repeat...

They DO get on my nerves from time to time, but I really enjoy the prospective they give on the sport, and it's so refreshing to get HONEST opinions instead of kiss ass company line BS 24/7.
They do a lot of kissing and biased opinions on the show, especially when it comes to anything Denny or TRD related

My favorite biased opinion was TJ saying Stenhouse was an idiot for racing the leaders while getting lapped, but how many times did he defend Logano for doing the same thing? Lol

Well, Freddie is on Denny's payroll, so I get it. I don't think Brett or TJ really give a crap about Denny or TRD. TJ was on a pretty short leash when Brad was at Penske, but he seems more free to speak his mind now. Just in the last couple months they have taken on NASCAR, NASCAR officials, race tracks, the TV networks, RCR, RWR, Dale Jr, most of the drivers in the Truck Series, the Indy Road Course, the decision to leave Road America, you name it. Most people involved in NASCAR either won't touch these issues with a ten foot pole or give one of those politician answers that makes you wonder if they have an honest opinion on ANYTHING. Nobody should EVER be above being called out when they do questionable things.

That's always confused me. I lived in Mooresville for a few years, and still live in the county. Big Al's is a dump in a strip mall beside a Food Lion. There are WAY better bars and restaurants within even a 1 mile radius. Why there? I don't get it. As much as I enjoy a good round of drinks, their frat boy talk can get tiresome. The other place they've mentioned is the Lake Norman Tavern. Also a complete and utter dive bar, but it's on the way to The Point which is a $1M+ gated neighborhood so...

There's a reason they've been called to the Red Hauler in the past couple years. I do respect that NASCAR told them to stfu and they still bring honest critique.

Well Brett loves to mention he grew up in Pageland in a trailer so he's used to trash I guess

I got called to the Big White Hauler one time for calling Salem Speedway a dump on the internet. I would probably have a seat with my name on it in the NASCAR Truck. :)

I actually AM. Like most people, I went through a phase like that and raised a lot of hell, and then I grew up. Once I got married, I quickly realized that how I behaved effected and reflected on more than just me. Now I drink two beers and have fun by having actual lucid conversations with people.

Even sober me doesn't think drunk me is funny.

Sometimes you just find a place that clicks with your group.
Big Daddy's is right down the road but who wants to pay 5 bucks a beer on spotter's wages??
My personal favs are Apps & Taps or Toucan's. Laid back, Live music and water.

How much do spotters typically make if they work every weekend? I assumed some of the experienced/established guys were making close to six figures, but I honestly have no clue.

Brett said the other week he makes like 2500 a weekend for Cup. Truck races though only pay like 250.

Apps and Taps is expensive af for what it is. Never done Toucans. If I’m at Apps and Taps, I almost prefer Blue Parrot
