I love short track racing (Taylor's Version)
Did you know Sprint Car drivers have spotters? ESPN told me so.

True, need some racing to try to get this off my mindToday's race cannot start soon enough.
Race starts at 1.
Not sure how reliable that source is or if the press conference will even happen now that Tony isn't racing today. If I am wrong on this, I apologize. The last thing I want to do at a time like this is spread misinformation.NASCAR star Tony Stewart will be having a press conference today at 1:00 PM ET to express his side on the death of Kevin Ward Jr., a 20-year-old race car driver, according to a report.
we know that he is up there Dale, Adam, Alan, Davey, and everyone else taken too soonWhether the accident was Stewart's fault or Ward's fault is irrelevant at this time. What is relevant is that a young man got his life taken away from him far too soon by something that could easily have been avoided on both ends. Today is not a day for blame; today is a day to mourn the loss of a fellow racer, to offer our condolences to his family, and to memorialize him in today's race.
R.I.P. Kevin Ward (1994-2014). Another racer gone too soon.
Oh, OK --- now it makes sense. Would have helped this old lady if you'd said that in the first place.During the coverage of this horrific tragedy, Sara Walsh and Ricky Craven said they use spotters like in NASCAR. This is obviously false.
Indeed, Wingnut. Tony is one of those people who wear their heart on their sleeve. Those who think he set out to kill the young man --- please think again.I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed for those that would have so much hate for Smoke to even harbor a thought that he would intentionally try and hurt another human being. That is what is truly sickening about this whole ordeal, y"all need to get a life and seek forgiveness.
No one is dancing on the grave. If I die doing something stupid I hope that people point out my stupidity and try and learn from it. The kid is dead. Gone. Forever. My opinions posted on this board won't change that. I stand by everything I said. The dude effed up but doesn't have to deal with the consequences of his stupidity. It's not fair but that's how it goes.

Actually it's not clear from the video if this could have been easily avoided by Stewart. That video is inconclusive. It's possible that Stewart didn't see Ward until the last moment -- black firesuit at night on a poorly lit track, as the car in front of Stewart swerved out of the way, revealing Ward. It's possible Stewart had no idea that Ward had run down the track to yell at him and didn't see him until it was too late.
We know there was at least one hothead decision, Ward running down the track. It's not clear if Stewart compounded that with another hothead decisions, though he might have.

Seems like the only time they get any is when it's negative.Stewart is front page story on FoxNews, CNN, Drudge, HuffPo, even BBC News.
Nascar always craves mainstream media attention. Probably not like this, though.
You missed my point entirely. I'm saying that we should save playing the "blame game" for another day. Today's focus should be on the poor individual that lost his life in the accident.

Through all of this I hope I can avoid seeing the video I have so far. Someone has already sent me a text, but I didnt click the link. Maybe I will later but for now I just do not want too see it.
I am watching the prerace show though.
People that have seen it seem to have different opinions on it, I dont think it will help.
Nevermind I just saw it on ESPN.
Plus, Tony was probably looking at the kids car sitting on the track and never expected him to be standing in the middle of the track. I wonder if anyone has even considered that Tony might have been going for the brake to stop and hit the gas instead. I thought he did that on pit road a few years back in a Cup car.Actually it's not clear from the video if this could have been easily avoided by Stewart. That video is inconclusive. Forgiveness for what exactly? Stewart isn't a victim here.
I have no idea, man.So what do y'all think the fallout is going to be?
Honestly, I see sponsors fleeing from Tony Stewart, no one wants to be associated with the guy who killed a man, accident or not. He may have to sell his half of Stewart-Haas Racing, not sure on that one. I just don't see Tony returning to the #14 after this season IMHO.
It's always amazing how few of the people here actually seem to understand anything about racing.
A man is dead and only an ******* would already be passing judgement on a situation they have no clue about the facts. If the shoe fits...............
They won't show a basketball player breaking a leg though (Kevin Ware and Paul George). It'll be impossible to stay away from it. The video is playing everywhere. American media is disgusting.
Interesting comments from Kahne.
It was in Marty Smith's report on the pre race show.????
Marty Smith read a statement from Kahne on the prerace show.????
Irony at its finest considering your post history.Yes. You TRUELY amaze us all with every post you make, every dumb comment you make......
