Truck RACE thread --- Daytona

12% of this race lost to scheduled cautions.
Haven't they always counted caution laps? You want a guaranteed 100 green flag laps i guess.
They haven't always scheduled cautions as part of every race. Hell, the comp cautions in the Duals last night didn't go six laps each.

6 laps under caution for nascar's previous segement. 6 laps. Watdahell

This crap will run me off the supporting series. Too high a percentage of green flag laps sacrificed intentionally. 12 laps out of 200 in a Cup race is bad. 12 out of 100 is almost unwatchable. This is going to kill TV ratings for this series. Who wants to watch a bunch of planned caution laps? Truck races have plenty enough organic cautions without scheduling more.

Don't anyone misunderstand me. I hate Gimmicks. This is a gimmick. But not counting laps makes the "race distance" longer. Some bitch about GWC. How is not counting laps run,
better?

Those laps aren't being run competitively. The caution is scheduled for the end of a stage, but the caution takes laps out of the next scheduled stage. If NASCAR is going to introduce stages, they should compensate by not counting the stage laps.

Part of the reason the breaks between stages take long is the NASCAR-mandated requirement that the leading drivers be interviewed. That doesn't explain why it takes three frickin' laps to get pit road open when there's no accident.

I am really starting to believe that monkeys are running NASCAR.............., no wait, I think monkeys could do a better job.

GWC is race overtime.

These segments strip 10-15% of organic racing away via manufactured cautions. Brian is a certifiable ignoramus.

This. They are advertising false race distances by counting these laps.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of segments, but I'll watch. The caution laps & flawed damage system have turned me off.

And that was a big one that didnt happen , wow

Boy, they sure got pit road open in a hurry after an accident.. They're already serviced and out. Wonder why it took so long after the stages?

As a Falcons fan I wish that did happen...
