Truck RACE thread --- Iowa

I guess it is too simple? Chastain was DQ'd I just posted a bunch of links you don't win the race if you are illegal..I know it is a new rule for Nascar and all, but try your best to catch up...

No I get the rule and can even live with a DQ but giving a win to a driver that didn't win is a no no for me.

Chastain didn't win, he had an illegal car, like how many times we going to do this dog and pony show while you do you usual flip flopping?.

Chastain did win though as he crossed the finish line first. If he was found to be illegal afterwards than there should be no winner.

Kind of like what you should expect when you dump a guy because you checked up and he touched you while trying to avoid you?
You need to visit your local eye doc. Sauter gave him a shove going into 1 and Hill saved it. Expect consequences

DQ, its a new Nascar word. It means whatever position, if you are found to be illegal, you go to the rear and get last place money and points and everybody who was behind the DQ car moves up one spot in points and money.

Which I can agree with but not to giving the win to car that didn't win.
Since ya just woke up, read this from February 4th
NASCAR moves up inspection, will DQ winners for major violations
Race-winning teams who are found in major violation of the rulebook will be disqualified (moved to last in the finishing order), receive last-place points, no stage points, and last-place prize money. The team will also lose all benefits that come with a win, such as playoff eligibility or advancement in the playoffs should an inspection failure occur in the post-season.
If the race-winning car is disqualified, and the second-place car clears inspection, the second-place team will be declared the winner and receive all benefits of the win. Such a decision would also be reflected in the record books.

When it comes to the second-place finisher, if that car were the only one to fail inspection and be disqualified, the rest of the finishing order would move up.

Have perfect eyes...Watch both Creed and Sauter...both were taken by surprise when Hill lifted. Sauter almost lost it cutting to the left.

I understand the DQ rule NASCAR has put in place. I seen the news when they made the change. Doesn't mean it's not a stupid rule. There was nothing wrong with they way they did things before but a few fans can't understand encumbered and now we get winners that placed 2nd. in the race.

your getting there, yep, when anybody gets DQ'd all behind the DQ move up one spot.

@Simple Fan just hates the rule, because he's worried Kyle will get busted with it at some point.

I wouldn't feel any different about it than if it was encumbered. I'd just hate to see someone win that difndi actually win. I'd hope that the driver in second would decline the victory even if it was Kyle.

Thing is, if someone cheats why do they deserve to have the win? The money, etc all of that? You noticed how Kyle has stopped cheating in the lower series now since the only thing he EVER got from it was wins? He didn't care about points, etc so he didn't care if he cheated to win those races. He has yet to get popped in a Truck race like he would a couple times a year, or Xfinity like he would a couple times a year. So the rule seems to at least be working for the most part. Surely since by now you would've heard about someone failing post race normally before this point of the season. Now I'm not saying Ross knew, and it sucks for him. But rules are rules. The team knew the stakes, took the chance and it didn't pay off.

I have yet to say that someone cheating deserves to win the race. They technically did win the race but if they are to be DQ'd I've said there shouldn't be a winner.

And no I honestly haven't noticed whatever you said about Kyle cheating in the lower series. Sounds like a bit of a conspiracy to me though.

He would get popped for it at least once or twice it seemed every season in those series. When points and playoffs don't mean anything to him in those series(unless it's owner points.) it didn't hurt him to cheat. Now that he wouldn't get the win, it hasn't happened.

So if i go out and run a Hemi with soaked tires, traction control and win the race but get caught I should keep the win cause I technically won anyway?
