Who has been before and is anyone from the forum going this year? I went from 2004-2007 until I moved too far away for it to be practical, though I'm looking at making it back in one of the next two years.

I ended up buying the racinboys video coverage. They do a good job with it, got some good camera angles. They went through 11 heat races in about an hour and 30 minutes or so, and that's with about 8 flips

Bucket list item for me...someday.

I heard they’re going Monday-Saturday next year.

Good resume builder for Chad Boat. I know he still wants to make the Indy 500 someday and get more opportunities in stock cars too.

I think they might have cut out the cautions on that clip. They have The Fastenal flip count set up. The 25th flip gets a Hans device..haha I'm not kidding.

For those who don't know how the Chili Bowl got it's strange name.

"The inaugural Chili Bowl was organized by Lanny Edwards and partner Emmett Hahn It was named after a local company who sponsored the first event. The race has been hosted at the Tulsa Expo Center since it was founded in 1987".

^^They used to run Chevy V8's cut in half. Chevy had an inline 4 also that was in Chevy 2's, Ford had a straight 4. They ran VW motors back then also.

Go
It will be interesting to see how much better Schatz is this year the second time around. He missed the main event by one spot last year.
Got 4th in his heat. Starts dead last in his qualifier. Should be fun to watch.

I don't think R**man bothers to look in here, so I'll post this here and hope it doesn't cause a dumb $hitstorm. This is why I'm a Larson fan. I don't know how anyone could actually fault someone for loving what they love because of passion rather than money and fame.

I don't quite understand it myself. The Toyota 4 banger is the Chevy small block of midget racing.

10th to P4 for schatz. It's painful watching this on My Race Pass. Ordinarily, I'm ok with just live timing, but there's just too much downtime. Planning on going next year.

I havent been following Jeff Gluck on Twitter, but it appears hes having a pretty good time and is finding the Chili Bowl quite entertaining. I did see one tweet early on the first night: "sick" and Im pretty sure hes not ill, yet, till the chili bowl flu sets in on Monday..

I’d love to go. Best thing about it is you get NASCAR guys, WoO guys, and top USAC guys in this thing. Almost like the World Cup in soccer, it’s the one thing that gets all the best drivers from multiple leagues to face each other

yeah he is enjoying it.

Great race. Dirt trackin at it's finest. Someone threw a bottle (or something) out of the stands at 16:50. Theres numbskulls everywhere.
