Weather check-in

except for around Cowboy Stadium.

We couldn't get the STATE to come to our part of the county to take care of THEIR major thoroughfares! Must be nice to live in Arlington or travel on the routes that the football teams traveled to the stadium. Unbelievably ridiculous!!!

and the sad thing is they said they brought in around 50 extra trucks just for NFL stuff but looks like they took all the TXDOT trucks

For all the gloom and doom they said was coming, we got almost nothing. Couple of inches yesterday, it's raining now.

It is snowing like crazy out right now. It was almost a white-out a few minutes ago. There is also several inches of ice underneath all of this snow. Fortunately I don't have anything I need to leave the house for until the weekend. It's not supposed to get above freezing for the forseeable future so this ice may be around a long time.

I feel bad for my wife though, she has to go to work this week and she has to go for pre-op testing today as well and then go back to work.

We got some rain from the massive storm, but not really all that much. Currntly almost 70º outside. Tomorrow will be lucky to see 40º. Nothing like a 30º swing in temps overnight...

Between the rain and temps above freezing the past couple of days this white krap is melting, but not fast enough! Almost 45 right now, T-shirt weather!

But all the melted stuff will freeze again tonight and the "aw CHITS" will be heard. Another storm coming mid week....:(

Below zero the past couple mornings here. 16 out there now.

For those of you that have to deal with the single digits throughout the winter, how does that affect your school system. The past two mornings have been a 2hr delay for my kids. That baffles me. It's winter. It's supposed to be cold. Surely those in Fargo don't delay school for single digit temps, or do they? I think that we are turning into a nation of wimps.

I would think the school buses in Fargo have some sort of block heater.
These - degrees and even single digits while rare aren't unusual for where we both live. It's probably a cost thing for the school dept.

Just like way down south they have minimal, if any, heavy snow removal equipment compared to us.

SST, I'm not sure what you consider "way down south", but here in Texas, with the exception of the panhandle cities, we have NO snow removal equipment. All we do is pretreat the roads before they get covered with ice and then we put a product ON the ice called Meltdown 20. Some areas use sand also, but it is mostly the MD 20 that is used. Last week and this week when we had our bad weather, we "borrowed" some snow removal equipment from Lubbock. Our low last night in the DFW area was 15. We were in the high 30's today and it should be 70* outside by next Wednesday!!! Woohoo, bring on Spring!

I know all about snow in Amarillo, &^%#* place that is. My wife's cousin in So Carolina said I'd make a fortune if I brought the Jimmy down to plow. Told her it'd cost a fortune in gas.

I think most places have the equipment to deal with their usual weather, not like the year it has been in many places. Up north they have block heaters and plows up the wazoo, down south you got ,,well nothing.

MD 20, isn't that a cheap wine? :)

Got a note from my wife's uncle in Tulsa. -11º this morning, a new record low for the city. Nowata, in Northen OK reached 31º below this morning, an all time record for the state.

In the 40's and 50's the next couple of days so all of this ice and snow we have will probably melt. It's supposed to be back around freezing again over the weekend.

It's beautiful day in the neighborhood,,da da da daaa:D

Going to put on my red sweater and sneakers and get outa the house with my dog,,
mid 40's today and sunny
mid 50's tomorrow

Still have snow covered ground and mountains of snow from shoveling/plowing.

Exactly the same here!!!! not to bad when the sun is out

Got to over 70º today, and the started dropping. About 50º now, and only supposed to get to the low 40s tomorrow.

Hey you guys in the midwest (Ohio etc.) how do you like this global warming? Let's get Al Gore back into politics so he can fix all of this.

This version sucks. I took my son shopping for a bass guitar for his birthday yesterday. We had a light dusting of snow when we left. By the time we were heading home several hours later, trafiic was going 15 miles an hour between complete stops the whole way home on the freeway. This is rediculous.

Yesterday at noon it was over 70º. Right now, I can see my breath and there's a bit of snow in the air.

Storms about 1AM -- but short-lived. I'm not thrilled with the winds, but the lower humidity is welcome. About 10* cooler than yesterday.

And finally --- some SUNSHINE !

Ice storm here, just barely above freezing now, my driveway is a skating rink!

Temps reached 75 today before the storms came about 4:30 and then the temps dropped 20 degrees. I almost finished my rounds before the bottom dropped out. A lady came out and offered me an umbrella. I'll be returning it tomorrow. It was pretty rough for a while.
