Weather Check-In

Looks like the DFW area might see snow Christmas night into Wednesday morning. Unfortunately I'll be in Houston, so I'll miss the snow if it happens.

Just sun and wind here. 48º with 20 MPH winds. I was going to pick up more leaves today, but not much point.

It's37, cloudy, windy and raw outside. Now a 70% chance of snow Christmas eve, I'm ok with that.

We are getting hit with snow right now. They expect up to 12" or so up here today and a little more overnight and tomorrow morning.

Every two hours to the north and to the west of us is getting hammered. Just gonna rain here all day long.

I'd trade you in a heartbeat. I'm pretty much done with snow the day after Christmas every year. And since that is today, it seems pretty appropriate. I'm used to it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

I hear ya. But all I want is one good snowfall a year, and it's been a couple years .

We got a little snow Christmas Eve and day, just enough to cover the grass but leaving the roads just wet. Perfect IMHO. But now they're calling for heavy rains coming in the next few days from the storm that's now battering the mid-west.

It's 33 or 37 degrees depending in the weather staion. 17 to 22 mph winds. Partly cloudy, kinda raw based on my quick trip outside.
The nasty weather in the mid-west will be here shortly but they are calling for just rain in southern NE

I have been at 4500 feet since last fri, and all I have seen is some freezing rain, so today I drove up to 6000 feet and had lunch at a nice little cafe and watched it snow, snow, snow. Now, my Christmas is complete.:)

We just had a real good line of thunderstorms come through. Second line of thunderstorms. This is August, right?

You get any snow? We got a little more than a dusting for Christmas but now it's mostly melted away.

We must have gotten a light dusting of snow/sleet very late Christmas night. Saw a little bit on the grill and the deck yesterday morning.

This morning, the front pasture is covered in heavy frost --- looks like snow from a distance.

We got 9 1/2" yesterday into the evening. Traveling sucked at best. I'm not sure why the DOT seemed to be oblivious to the pending storm but they were nowhere to be seen until late into the evening.

Pic from behind the house during the storm yesterday.

Been without power since Wednesday morning after an ice storm. In Blacksburg now using some Starbucks WiFi. We'll be the last house in Floyd County to have power restored -- maybe later tonight. Another ice storm moving in tonight. :(

Y'all can keep that white crap. Looks good on a postcard but it sux if you have to work outdoors in it.
It's 55 here right now and were gonna get a little rain tomorrow night.

Forecast is for 6 to 9 inches of that white krap between now and noon tomorrow.:(

We're looking at about 12" from later tonight to tomorrow evening. Good news for the ski hills and snowmobilers.

Another reason that I don't like snow is because I have four cars, three of which are between 40 and 50 years old. Salt and mag-chloride are not nice to 50 year old steel :(

Starting snowing alittle over a hour ago then turned to a mix of snow/freezing rain and now a light rain.
Temp is 32 so it'll be fun trying to walk on snow with ice underneath. My son is outside putting a waterpump on a female friends car, good for him, it'll build character:rolleyes:

That storm in New England is what's headed here. Generators are tuned up and full of fuel and I'm soon to make a beer/wine run so all will be good for whatever arrives.
