Weather Check-In

Anyone who'd like to see AndyM and BobbyF in a candy cane cage match, show yourself ;)

So Bobby, how many tracks do you have around you?
Maybe 5 or 6 within a decent drive. Perris has great potential but for some reason they cut back on the USAC schedule. There's Santa Maria but that's farther. Ventura is close and is a nice 1/5 mile dirt hole, always provides some great racing.
I'm curious to see what Irwindale will have to offer in an attempt to regenerate interest.
As a kid, it was cool; Ascot, Riverside, Ontario, Saugus, Mesa Marin. Not so much anymore.
Bakersfield dirt track isn't a bad drive from here either.
Too many a**hole democrats running this state. Lots of over regulation and EPA treehugger fukkers to battle here. Sometimes I wish they'd choke to death on their ricecakes.

So, about 1/8 of the tracks I have here? :D
Correct. You have about 1% of desirable weather. I like to ride my Harley down to Malibu with my girl and enjoy the amazing food and weather.
Lemme know your percentage of similar weather activities. Do they even sell sunblock there? :D

Funny, all I have to do to spend a day on the water is walk out to my backyard.

I think Bobby's curled up under his covers right now while I'm drinking beer with the windows wide open. :D

(Sandy Thread)...I've really got to pick a bone with the media. This has been, without a doubt, the worst coverage of a major news event ever. The mainstream media and the politicos can't see outside of the election for some reason.
Reality: Dozens of people are dead (and the death toll is rising), millions are without power and thousands have been displaced.
Media: The top story this hour, what impact does Hurricane Sandy have on Mitt Romney's campaign?
Reality: The worst disaster since Hurricane Katrina.
Media: Governor Romney said last week that (blah blah)...

Uh huh :D

What's up Bobby? I'm sitting here with all the windows open enjoying the nice weather. :D

You still have your winter clothes on?

The difference between the left coast and the east coast is that we can adapt to weather conditions. Bobby wouldn't know what to do if he saw snow. :)

Well, the nice weather was enjoyable. Back to Winter tomorrow. Ice storm Tuesday night, hope it don't knock out the power.

I actually know what I'd do; I move. I don't like snow. I don't want to shovel it, I don't want my classic vehicles to rot from the affects of salt or mag-chloride. The coldest it gets during the day here is the 50's, that's as cold as I like it. I can drive to the snow in about 2 hours and drive back home, where it never snows. I don't like to be cold. Some people can't handle the heat, I don't mind 100 degree weather. I work outdoors. You can always cool off but you're warm-up options are limited.
My family wasn't born here but the smart ones migrated here.

I'd take 30° any day over 120°. I like winter. I like having different seasons. And I like having 28 racetracks near me.

I own jackets. I don't like trying to remember where I store them.
I work outdoors, not in a cubicle, I don't like weather to affect my day.
It's rarely 120 here. It's also rarely below 50 degrees.
Keep your jackets and snowshoes ready, I'll never need them. :D

Never say never.
