Weather Check-In

It rained a bit this morning, it's only 86 but the dew point is almost 70. Uncomfortable to say the least.
 
Brutally hot. Accuweather shows 96º with a 113º heat index. Supposed to be just as hot for the upcoming week, including the 4th. Southside Speedway in Richmond cancelled racing tonight, but all the other race tracks (I think) are a go. I'll be sweltering tomorrow at Virginia Motor Speedway tomorrow, but it's all good. They have a special pinewood derby event under the main grandstands tomorrow with some drives and some boy scouts, so hot or not, looking forward to seeing that.

True dat. Mid 90's for the weekend. High humidity/dewpoint. I know 2 guys who aren't going to run their cars this Saturday. Too freakin' hot.
Mid July and the first week or two of August is our normal time for extremely hot weather. Weather guessers on 2 local TV channels have said all bets are off for this year.

MIR is a go for tomorrow for their Legends show and cackle fest.
 
Got up to 102 today and I texted my wife telling her that I was having a lovely day, soaking up the sunshine. Only drank a couple of gallons of water and kept my Chilli Pad wet all day. Actually, I was doing fine until about 4:00 and then I began to feel a bit exhausted. But I was home by 5:15, got a nice cool shower and grilled a couple of ribeyes along with grilled potatoes. Life is good.
 
Nasty storms rolled through Weest Virginia and Virginia last night, knocking out power and trees. And no respite from the heat.

But on a high note, it should only be about 114º to in North Carolina, where I'm going to shoot some kick ass midget racing.:dpepsi:

Fredericksburg VA area is in a state of emergency, with over 50,000 without power, downed trees. They're even saying that it could be days befre power is restored for many. Not good in this heat.

I would be going to a hotel if my power was out for several days in this heat. Hope things can be restored quickly there.

Well at least with their short legs they can't run very fast.Should be pretty easy to get pictures of them.:D
 
No racing this weekend but it's understood because of the storm damage situation. MIR without power.

ODS was ********ed by the storms.
