Weather Check-In

Looks like DFW is going to be dry as a bone unless this atmosphere goes unstable VERY quickly.

It looks like we are going to have another heatwave hit us this week. 86 today, 90 tomorrow, 92 Tues, and 94 Wed.

What is that bright light shining from the south eastern sky this morning? I find it unrecognizable and somewhat fearful yet it brings with it heat and the hope that we can break the 40 degree barrier. Can anyone else out the identify what I may be seeing? Is there anyone out there? Anyone?

Weather check-in my ass.

This a thinly veiled bitch, moan and complain thread. However, if that's what works, it's all good as no one is forcing me to come in here again ;)

The weather has been glorious this past week. Bright sunshine, warm temps during the day, cool at night. Perfect Fall weather --- except for the deer hunters. ;)

High day time temps through Sunday, 52, overnight lows at or below 32. Monday and Tues highs are forecast to be 44. Packing away my T's, shorts and boat shoes. Unpacking boots, jeans and flannels:(

A former co=worker is from Montana. Only woman I've ever known who never complained of it being cold. Watched her cook outside on the grille during a snow flurry dressed in a T, shorts and flip flops. She grew up on a farm, told us how they had a line between the house and barn they held onto because it snowed so hard you couldn't see. Her husband works at Oak Ridge and plans on retiring in the next year or so, she wants to go back to Montana when he does.

The weather was near perfect for the races this weekend. Warm days and cool nights.

White stuff. Squall came through around 4 pm yesterday with high winds, rain and then just enough white stuff to coated the grass. This morning there's 2+ inches of the stuff. Hate it, dog loves it. Go figure.

I hate winter earlier and earlier every year. While it looks nice to see a fresh blanket of snow out there on a winter morning, it sucks to drive on and it's hard on the car/truck exterior having that damn road salt on there all the time. On top of that my son is a new driver this year. I am not looking forward to the results of his first experience on the snow/ice covered roads. Heck, it takes a few of those long commutes to work for me to get acclimated to the new style of driving again each year. :(

This weather is nutz, we had a little snow here two days ago. Highs in the 30's during the day anddown to mid 20's at night. Highs today are forecast to hit 60, tomorrow mid 60's. I've got windows open!

45, cloudy and rain. Waiting for the big warmup Friday.....
Just when gas hit $3.34, no sense in filling up....

Thursday....Welcome to winter

Snow, heavy at times. Windy with blowing and drifting snow. Blizzard conditions in the afternoon and evening. Total snow accumulations of 10-15 inches.

Hey bucky, is your snow shovel all tuned up? You guys are going to get creamed. I'm glad I'm down here in the corner, we're only supposed to get 3-6".:(

It has been kind of chilly and drizzly here this week but I am still in shorts and sandals, but I did decide to put some socks on this afternoon.

"Winter Storm DRACO" may become "Blizzard DRACO"

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Good job Weather Channel.

Yeah, we are supposed to get some snow here soon. We have had the occasional flurry here and there, but it has been unseasonably warm for the most part. I guess we are due.

Don't think I'm in DFW anymore. Got blown damn near to the gulf shore from the winds last night. DFW registered 52MPH at 11pm and they didn't let up all night- Lubbock's dust storm came through around 11 and left around 1am.

Storm line hit about 11:30 last night -- lasted all of 20 minutes -- maybe. 1/2 inch of rain. Howling winds all night and ALL fricking day here. It is just beginning to die down -- a little. Looking for low 20s here tonight.
Checked earlier today --- have some big limbs down, nothing close to the house -- one big one on the fence, but it will have to wait for a bit warmer weather.
