What should Chads penalty be CHEATING AGAIN?

Well maybe this year Nascar will be a little harder I mean Chad use not to get something this stiff right? We'll see how this year goes.

How do you know how stiff they give it to him?

He got this same penalty in 06 I think.

Think what 25 points is to the old system I'm sure he hasn't had anything this huge before. It's pretty stiff if you ask me and I feel and hope Nascar will not give anyone a break no matter what this year.

Like I said THIS year. Heck I'm not sure what you mean but if you mean the Kyle thing them just giving Kyle a one race suspension was something lol maybe this year it would be more if Kyle does something.

Oh well yeah 1 won't help much

Anyway isn't this the same car they used at all the plate races last year? Chad told him at Talladega about the back end just saying
I think lap 2 took care of that problem anyhow.

The 48's worst season, is better than an average teams best year. That was last year.

And if they don't make the chase, I will send you money for a six pack of FAT TIRE.

Just make sure it's Iceeeee Cold

  • NASCAR suspends Knaus for six weeks; Hendrick to appeal: NASCAR has issued penalties, suspensions and fines to the #48 team in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rules infractions found on Feb. 17 during opening day inspection for the Daytona 500. The #48 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20 of the rule book or has not been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20-2.1E (if in the judgment of NASCAR officials, any part or component of the car not previously approved by NASCAR that has been installed or modified to enhance aerodynamic performance will not be permitted -- unapproved car body modifications). As a result, crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec have been suspended from the next six Sprint Cup Series championship events, suspended from NASCAR until April 18 and placed on NASCAR probation until May 9. Additionally, Knaus has been fined $100,000. Driver Jimmie Johnson and car owner Jeff Gordon have been penalized with the loss of 25 driver and 25 owner points, respectively.(NASCAR)
AND Hendrick Motorsports will appeal sanctions announced by NASCAR related to the #48 Sprint Cup Series team. "Our organization respects NASCAR and the way the sanctioning body governs our sport," said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. "In this case, though, the system broke down, and we will voice our concerns through the appeal process." Adjustments to #48 team personnel are not planned while the appeal is ongoing.(Hendrick Motorsports)(2-29-2012)

Fair or not, what do you people think ?

Knaus has a long history of "playing in the grey area" and bending the rules.

Still not right, IMO. The car never turned a lap! It failed it's initial inspection, they fixed the "issue", returned the car to the inspectors and it passed! Move On!

6 race suspension is, well, how do y'all say it... :bsflag:
Maybe NASCAR is pissed off that they missed it the other 4 times they ran the car.

I think if a car is presented for inspection AT THE TRACK.It is being presented to race that weekend. If it fails any inspection AT THE TRACK should have the same penalty. No matter when it was found AT THE TRACK.

Where else does a car get inspected other than "at the track"? And there are lots of examples of cars failing inspection, being sent back to the crew and re-presented again with no penalties.

But this story ain't over yet cause HMS has filed an appeal. Chadski will probably be in PHX with the 48 team until the appeal is heard.

Prolly right, Mike.

It's easy enough to track with all of the bar coding...

Okay Butt If the 48 fails to make The Chase you and MoeJoe owe me a beer

25 races 6 without His Chadsdom 23 points in the Hole and they only Won 1 last year.
he has steve for back-up,np

Knaus and Letarte were both suspended for 6 weeks and fined 100k in June of 2007 when the 24 and 48 showed up at Infineon with too much flare in the fenders. The cars even fit the templates but they didn't meet the specs NASCAR had given them. Neither car had hit the track.

So..... How interesting will it be if @ the end of the appeal process, the appeal process committee decides to take a little more points away or add a little $'s or even increase the suspension of the crew chief and/or car chief? It's not without precedent.

Here's a little list of appeal stats to chew on.....

APPEALS - results 1999 to current - (As of11-5-2010)
134 total appeals
90 upheld
32 reduced
10 overturned
2 increased

Lotta contraversy dp.Seems to be split as to how serious the offence. Gotta wonder if it'd been Busch ,Biff,or Danica. We might have seen our first linching.

If HMS wins the appeal there will be idiots saying that Rick bribed NASCAR. (Even though NASCAR pisses more money than Rick and HMS has combined and the amount of any such bribe would greatly exceed the penalties)
