Bonehead of the week: Bristol II

Kyle Busch is a sports professional. Hes supposed to know that hes gonna have cash ****tt talked to him weekend and week out.

He got in a fan's face here in the south. In a lot of places he would've got laid out. I'm sure his security team would've whooped my ass but I'd have rocked him if he got in my face like that

Looks like KB started the physical confrontation. Jumped out of his cart and got in a hecklers face....

That's just so stupid on so many levels. One, it totally lacks class, regardless of how much of a jackass the fan was. Two, in today's world, confronting strangers like that is a good way to have some BAD things happen.

Geez. Comeon Kyle, he’s got to know he’s got ALOT more to lose than some drunk idiot at a race in the hills of Tennessee. I wish Kyle would understand he’s still at an age where he’s young enough to have the world by the balls: hot wife, wealth, a child, his family’s health and an awesome job. Going into a fight with some drunk hillbilly could make all that go away in an instant. Not a good look for anyone involved here

When the guy shoved him he fell away like a cardboard cutout. His female cart driver rescued his ass. If the guy spit at him, or threw a drink, I could understand Kyle telling security to throw his ass out. He ran from Harvick and got his ass whooped by long neck Logano. He isn't a fighter.

Wuss wuss.

That wreck with Truex was totally avoidable, but Kyle didn't even lift or turn down. He went right to the wall and cleared a path. Kyle was in superhero recovery mode and knocked him out of the way to get to the front, plain and simple.

Like he did most of the others on the way up there.

I find it humorous that the same fans that put up with Kyle's behavior will lose their minds if the same behavior is exhibited by athletes in other sports. That was on track grounds after a NASCAR sanctioned event. Taking in account all the other crap he's done he needs to miss a race. Mars, Inc. has to be thrilled that video exists showing the guy the have wrapped their brand around going after a fan and more than likely a person who eats their products.

Way to go Kyle. What an idiot.

Yep. I think that's why JJ didn't give any room when Kyle was 3 wide near the wall. KB is very talented, but he gets away with a lot by forcing others to lift and move over or be wrecked.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see FurnRow team up with SHR in the future.

I think sitting out a race would be too much. A big fine should send the message loud and clear that fighting fans is a big no-no.

All that video does is elucidate to Nascar and anyone else what a bunch of dumb, drunk ,vulgar hillbillies there fans are. No wonder they try to appease us with silly gimmicks to create drama. Kyle was a moron, the fan in his face was a moron, and the lady holding the phone screaming #$@$ Kyle Bush was a moron. This makes us all look stupid imho. I wish the video had never gone public.

While the fan was yelling "You _______" on the video, it was Kyle that created the situation. He stopped his cart and got out to confront a person who paid to go to the event. Kyle is a professional athlete. To confront a fan is idiotic behavior that paints him and the company he represents in a bad light.

Once again NASCAR has another story that takes away from a great race. Good job, Kyle.

No argument from me.

They've taken the video down everywhere.

NASCAR loves it!

LOL that guy had a chance to absolutely clean Kyle's clock and passed it up.

Dewar is hanging out in Korea, huh.

I'm going to hope that Dewar was addressing Busch's TV interview, which is what the tweet he responded to referenced. If the video of this incident gets out any wider, NASCAR will be forced to respond and reprimand Busch. They should do it proactively, as Busch was not provoked into a physical confrontation with a fan. He did the provoking, which is so far beyond unacceptable that there isn't a good word for it.

The part those who make the argument that Kyle Busch is a "great heel" character and plays the "heel role" well are missing is that it's a role. It's supposed to be a character. Simply behaving like a despicable person much of the time is not being a heel. Many legendary "heels" are in reality generous, kind people when the cameras are off. Heel performers know how to feed and corral a crowd's negative energy to increase the overall entertainment level.

All Kyle Busch knows how to do is drive race cars, and he is indeed one of the most talented to ever do it. That is thrilling to watch. Otherwise he is enormously insecure, antisocial, and narcissistic. If there is a personality disorder, chances are better than not he has it. Are there other drivers in the garage that have some similar issues and hide it better? Perhaps. I think Harvick has and does, and has mostly mellowed and matured because he doesn't want his own kid to have to witness him being such a punk.

I almost felt dirty watching it, its why I barely leave my house to go to sporting events anymore. So many drunken idiots ruin it. I used to be a Bears, Bulls, White Sox season ticket holder (partial package) and went to Chicagoland Speedway every year. Now I'll just go to Daytona if I can and maybe another sporting event for the year. Dealing with those kinds of people and interacting with them really takes the wind out of your sails. I said thats enough when I attended the NASCAR race in Kentucky in 2014 and almost got in a fight with some drunk hillbilly hitting on my GF ( now wife) who was coming out of the ladies room. Ruined the rest of my race.

Kyle's brother lost his ride because he yelled at a member of the NASCAR (cough, cough) press. Maybe Kyle should take a few of the anger management classes that Tony took or see if he can get an appointment with whomever helped Kurt.

It is laughable that anyone can't see that Kyle acting the way he did is outside the boundaries of how a person should act in society. What a stellar example for the youth, and what a great clip to have out there for people with young kids that might want to go to the track for their first race. A top tier race car driver physically confronting a fan with all that super nice language thrown in. I'd bet they might have second thoughts of going after seeing that clip.

If LeBron jumped ugly with a fan in the crowd people would be calling for his head, but Kyle get's a pass cause "he's a wheelman". Give me a break...lol.

You're completely right on this one.

Oh my God. I have never seen anything so stupid within NASCAR my entire life.

I’ve written 3 sentences and then erased them. I can’t even come up with the words.

Kyle got thrown back a good 5-8 yards by a fan he approached physically.

He must have forgot that outside the track, there are not chest bumping, slap fights, or teams to hold you back while you look tough. There are good ol’ boys who have been locking fists since middle school.

He got lucky. Absolute stupidity.

Happens it all sports. While it’s not a positive, it’s reality.

Kyle needs to be better than that. He’s the face of an organization and attitude reflects leadership.

Kyle was lucky he didnt get a whoopin. lmao it is funny he was trying to look tough.

I'm not sure how you could pick anyone besides Kyle for this. In both races he clearly had the car to win and threw it away, then to top it off gave such stellar post race interviews.

I don't have a problem with it. Some dude is yelling who knows what and Kyle gets out to ask him what's up? I have no problem with that at all.

Turn down the volume if you don't like offensive language.

KB looks pretty aggressive.

I've had some fellow racers tell me the fan grabbed Kyle by the shoulder while he was in the golf cart and thats why Kyle came out.

Just stay on the ****** golf cart...don't jump off and ENGAGE with the fan!!!!

They're both in the wrong and should know better.

Great video! The high def up close resolution CLEARLY shows Kyle in the wrong.

Right haters?

No, no, no. That up close high def video was pretty clear that the fan was a perfect angel.
