NASCAR 2019 - Bold Prediction Thread

12 races with rain on day of event

@4tires17gals

Correct me if I'm wrong:

For 12 separate races rain has an impact (that can be later verified) on each of those races.

That is, rain causes a race to be postponed to a later start time (or to a later start date) or rain causes a caution to be thrown after the race has started.

Ross Chastain will finish in the top 20 in Cup in 2019, and
he will win two Exfinity races in 2019, and
by season end it will be announced he is taking Clint Boyers Ride for 2020.
CGR says he is still under contract of some kind.

Although it's not specified in the game rules, collusion among game participants is strictly prohibited. :D

@JJ_14

When you site the number of races that you predict each driver will win . . . . do you mean to say exactly that number or at least that number.

Prediction #1: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wins three races: Daytona 500, Coke Zero 400 (Daytona) & the Brickyard.
Prediction #2: Someone lands on top of Ryan Newman's car yet again.
Prediction #3: Kurt Busch looks like his old self, winning four races & the championship in surprising fashion.

Aric Almirola will win his first non-plate race.

Denny Hamlin will be out at JGR by season's end.

Jimmie Johnson will once again go winless for the season.

That could very well be a winner in my opinion. If it happens that is. :D

@JJ_14

You've now made a total of 6 predictions.

The limit is 3 predictions per player.

btw, the Ryan Newman prediction is too vague, if not impossible to verify.

Here are my final predictions:

Prediction #1: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wins three races: Daytona 500, Coke Zero 400 (Daytona) & the Brickyard, becoming the fourth driver in history to win the Daytona 500 & the Brickyard the same season.
Prediction #2: Denny Hamlin has a bounce back season, winning five races & earning a trip to the final four.
Prediction #3: Kurt Busch looks like his old self, winning four races & the championship in surprising fashion.

Ricky winning 3 races in itself is Bold, naming the 3 is insanely BOLD. :blink:

@JJ_14

You're getting closer but still no cigar.

#1 - Because you predict Stenhouse will win three specific races, it could be considered three separate predictions. It's so outrageous, however, that I'll accept it as one prediction.

#2 - Hamlin winning 5 races and making the final four is two separate predictions.

#3- Kurt Busch winning 4 races and winning the championship is also two separate predictions.

Also, you've previously stated that when predicting that a driver will win X number of races that you mean exactly that number of races. So, I'll keep that in mind.

Please eliminate prediction #2 then. Thanks!

The TV ratings will be down again this year. The flow of fans leaving hasn't stopped yet.

Richard Petty Motorsports shuts down by season's end despite Bubba Wallace scoring multiple (>2) top 5s.

I'm taking this as a two-part prediction that says Wallace scores more than two top five finishes in 2019 and RPM shuts down by season's end.

pjomolo, is there an advantage of posting 3? If your wrong on 1 can you continue to
be eligible?

@Team Penske

When making a multiple-part prediction, all parts of the prediction must be proven to be true in order for that player to be considered as having made the most bold prediction.

If any one part of a multiple-part prediction is proven to be false, then it's game over for that player.

If there's any advantage to making a multiple-part prediction it's that such a prediction is considered to more bold and therefore (provided all parts are proven to be true) more likely to collect votes during the balloting following the end of the season.

Jimmie Johnson wins his 8th championship.
Morgan Shepherd finishes a Cup race.
There will be at least one race winner born in the 1960s or earlier and at least one race winner born in the 2000s. (Cup, Xfinity or Trucks)

@donthaveanickname

That last one regarding the decades in which race winners were born has to be considered as two predictions which means that you're over the limit.

something's gotta go
