NASCAR announces 2019 MENCS rules

If I was in charge I would not but someone may think it is worth the risk.
There's almost always somebody that thinks something is worth the risk. Play with the edges every second or third race; you might skate by for a while. Just freakin' don't snivel when the hammer drops.
Well if you generally run between 30th and 38th and pull off a 20th place run with out a rain delay or a fuel mileage gamble you are probably going to tear down.
Be smart. Sandbag for 30th, plus or minus, for a few weeks. Push to 27th or so for a month. Screw up a pit stop occasionally to finish at your target for the weekend. If you're running 19th by Darlington instead of Atlanta, fewer questions will be asked. Fewer, not necessarily none. Of course, this requires the complete cooperation of everyone on the team, and all those tin foil hats will draw some attention.

Heres Timmy Hill clocking in 15th in qualifying! Must have gottena hell of a draft!

Thumbed his nose? All he said is he wants his crew chief grinding every week and finding an advantage.

C'mon man, he knows, I know, you know, and Rodney knows...that wasn't looking for an advantage--that was cheating. His statement in that context means that he would give Rodney his blessing to do something similar again. We know that. That is thumbing his nose at NASCAR. Period.

Whether by penalty or retirement, NASCAR's going to lose you anyway.

No they won't. A KB win is special to me, and would be impossible. A Toyota win would be similar. I pay for that rush. You give it, and then take it away, I'm not sure I want to play. I will find it elsewhere.

I think its because they pretty much were the car to beat all year.

I agree 100%. Two to three tenths better everywhere with Rodney's blade. No question.

I think what might be happening here is that NASCAR makes the big statement. They handle stuff behind closed doors. The public perception is that NASCAR has this under control. Perfect IMO.

Rodney's comment that the new rules give him comfort because now he doesn't feel that he has to keep up with anybody was the flat out funniest thing I have ever heard anybody say in NASCAR. He makes Chad look like a pussycat.

"Do something like that again" means he will get sent home with nothing and also remember Harvick made those comments BEFORE the new rule came out.

lol. Son they are in control. ;)

The DQ is just a scare tactic to protect the new rules package imo. God forbid someone gaps the field!

so if we had these rules last year, who would have been DQ from a race, besides harvick and his counterfeit spoiler.

We are like minded as I’m not talking about David Ragan in the top 5 but maybe from 35th to 29th or other smaller increments that won’t raise red flags.

Well that cant be, they all will be flat footed and run in packs. Least that what I hear, right IanMcVittie?

Whats a red flag got to do with it? If your a small team and your number comes up, you are just about out of business. You would be better off hoping someone in front of you got caught and you move up a spot.

His entire post was about breaking the rules along with his interpretation of what Harvik was trying to say. My question was on point and valid. What does the posturing have to do with breaking the rules? Again, anything Harvik said about Rodney pushing the rules is now a moot point because the rule changed which is exactly the outcome NASCAR wanted, not just the 4, but everyone.

Here is what Harvick says today about the rule change and the penalty. I think you know who wishes his driver was the last word of Harvick's statement instead of a reflex behind a steering wheel:p ..oh man sometimes I just got to spank myself for laughing too hard.

“You have to push to right up to where it is and sometimes it’s going to be questionable and sometimes it’s going to be too far and sometimes it’s going to result in positives,” Harvick said. “You have to be aggressive but you also have to be smart.

You think it would be detrimental for a lesser team to try it and I think it could happen. Neither one of us are right or wrong and we just have a difference of opinion. That is all it is right?

With all the changes going on in Nascar do you think you may actually attend an event this year? Kansas or Tejas would make the most sense for you geographically.

Doubt it, I have two sisters right now that aren't doing that well. I'm going to try to make the desert next winter, looking for a vehicle is the direction I am headed.

eh they don't care what place you finish. If you get caught you lose it all. I peronally think it is a bigger gamble/loss for a smaller team..like there went the tire budget for next week kind of thing.

I wouldn’t argue with the point you have made.

I am so sorry to hear about your sisters as I have been down a similar path and to call it difficult doesn’t do justice. I’m sorry you have to go through this.

The 1.5s aren't going to be Superspeedway-esk with the new package? Logano was literally just on NASCAR Hub saying "Chase Elliott is going to carry the flag for Chevy because of his plate track skills under the new rules". I think I'll believe Logano and Bowyer and KDB and select users on this forum.

Elliott if they stay up with the track, makes a habit of coming on and improving his position in the last stage. Plate racing demands strategy to put yourself in the right position to win. Logano is telling on himself. Both he and Kez are pretty good at playing strategy also.

Sure we do, one opinion has merit, the other doesnt. One opinion has lived the life, the other hasnt. Thats all right, right?

You do that. And remember, when the top 5 come across the line seconds apart except for a 10 lap restart, remember what I told you

I think you said that they were the car to beat all year--I agreed. Can't prove that they weren't screwing with the spoiler. Given the egregious nature of the offense, it wouldn't be a surprise if Rodney had gotten away with it all year, but it's okay because 1) There wasn't a performance advantage, and 2) Rodney felt forced to do it because everybody else was. I really am happy that he feels at peace now that NASCAR is going to make things fair for him. Poor guy.

While I don't like or agree with the saying it has been said... .. "If you're not cheating, you're not trying!"

One driver admitted to cheating.

In 1972, at the Talladega 500, Marty Robbins stunned the competition by turning laps that were 15 mph faster than his qualifying time. After the race, NASCAR tried to bestow the Rookie of the Race award, but he would not accept it. He had knocked the NASCAR-mandated restrictors out of his carburetor and admitted he "just wanted to see what it was like to run up front for once."

The rest of the story is the Bobby Allison did the carburetor for Marty, and NASCAR was pissed, but for whatever reason they didn't want to fine or suspend Marty or even Bobby, so they fined and suspended Bobby's brother Eddie.

What do you mean that they "give it" to you, and then take it away? In the scenario described, your boy Kyle Busch (or Harvick for his fans) wins a sporting contest. It's then discovered that the car he drove wasn't within the rules. Nothing was given to him or you, and there is nothing to take aside from enforcing rules of competition.

If you want to be given your desired results, watch scripted entertainment.

Hopefully Nsscar doesn’t play favorites or feel pressured to make certain decisions

The 9 car was heavily penalized three times in the last 40 some odd races by NASCAR. Does that sound like they are playing favorites, or isn't Chase NASCAR's golden boy?

Nascar threw bogus yellow flags for years and denied it. What Nascar says they will do sounds really good if they do things fairly and equally.
