Semantics. You pay the money to get air time on a program/have a presence at the track, you are associated with the program, you support/promote the program. Is Dodge/RAM promoting NASCAR? Yes. They aren't gone forever. Toyota has invested more than Ford and Chevy....and they did so at a time when those guys were in the financial ****ter.

Toyota has been all in...even when the product slid into the ratings/attendance ****ter. They have invested when nobody else would....and they still do. They are a great partner to NASCAR.

They are getting an extra minute from 5 to 6 on pit road to repair the car this year. This could be interesting? A two lap penalty instead of being parked for too many crew members over the wall for repairs. Maybe some teams will take the two lap penalty if the car is pretty messed up.

So I guess the Next Gen wheel tire combo doesn’t use an inner liner. Saw several care get stuck flat on their wheels.

Keep thinking about the Penske RFK wheel confiscation and I dont think NASCAR has a choice other than to assess a Level 2 Penalty. I mean dont touch, means dont touch. A level 3 can take away the win and I dont think they will do that considering they didnt run the race.

It's possible Nascar finds a problem, but on the other hand Penske is very familier with the wheel because the Supercars run the same setup.

My understanding is they widened the contact pins on the back side of the wheel (female portion) which by rule is a a modification. I cant believe they would even attempt it.
 
Penske says he told somebody at Nascar about it before they did it. :idunno: Could be the Penski group knew that wheel would go on a lot easier and faster because of experiences with the SuperCars. Kinda handy that Brad has a full tilt machine shop handy.
