Unfortunately the ignore function on this site is near worthless
I'll just give it another test...

Yep, seems to be working just fine.

Was just listening to Brian Murphy from SHR saying that they're still using the Hawkeye system so that mean plus or minus 0.150". That's a lot more than what I figured. Turns out there's still a lot of tuning to be done.

Don't be ridiculous, NASCAR said, remember?

I found it interesting that JJ Yaley was saying it's a lot harder found these smaller teams to bring a car to the track with a mid level sponsor because the cost of the car is so much higher. Guess just an unfortunate circumstance of the new car, hope some of these guys find a way to show up.

That's what people overlook about this whole deal. It's a cost savings over time, but initially, whatever you had for a fleet last year is now basically scrap metal.

The cars are very "twitchy".
A number of factors affect this. I'm curious to see how this is rectified.

We'll see how it plays out. That might be what they need for good racing. Clearly stuck cars didn't put on a good show.

This is the most I have been excited for qualifying in 15 years. I recall one of the last single-car sessions I watched from start to finish was the McDowell flip in 08...wow I'm old

So first racing in the books, and there seem to be concerns for next gen design/engineering that produced two transaxle failures, a belt breaking that took out a hose on the 11 (design flaw?), and overheating on several cars with the Camaro more prone than others. Anything else being discussed? It’s a short time frame until Daytona.

Loved how the composite body absorbed reasonable contact without sending tires flat. Love the overall look and sound.

I believe the 15 had brake failure

Reddick admitted he dumped the clutch. That was dangerous to do with the old car. It's one of those don't do thats

How was that dangerous to do with the old car? They always dumped the clutch as the car was also falling onto the ground off the jack many times per race.

Broken axles can be a common occurrence with the older rear ends

Yeah, I can see how side stepping the clutch could cause enough shock to break something, but dumping it seems common enough

both result in the same thing and I believe that they are the same, just different terminology. Poping the clutch is another. But if you want the quickest launch you have the clutch right at the point it is starting to grip and then you gas it and let it out at the same time. Much less shock to the drive train, less wheel spin

I think the car did ok for its first outing, thought it would be a little more durable. Nothing that can't be fixed from what I saw. Only problem is the updates this 1st year will be hard on the teams

I guess you missed the last LCQ race :idunno: It looked like there was plenty of contact to me anyway. They would have filled the infield with the Gen 6's

I missed what happened with Blaney’s car. It looked like he was done…but he made it back on the track quickly. Anyone know? Before the race I read each team had two crew members in the infield, so two guys got his car going again?

Body wise it’s more durable
Don’t count the concrete barrier hit.

It's a mystery so far. They show Blaney running at the end of the race. He finished 17th three laps down.

"Mr. O'Donnell, Jim Campbell is on Line 1." 😂
