Silly Season 2023

He isn't a racer?

He competed in SCCA and IMSA, dude is a racer. Anyways, congrats to Bubba on the new multi year deal. His form as of late has been really good and hopefully he can continue to ride this wave of momentum.

Id be inclined to agree with you and I sort of do as you spar with the usual suspects you spar with here, the question I have is how does RWR raise the value of charters? I would think they’re going up due to the demand of charters, nothing specific Rick is doing unless I missed something. I do get the point you’re trying to make that just because Rick is making money with these charters doesnt make him a good car owner. He’s a good businessman sure but owner, not sure. They’re not mutually exclusive imo. They are getting faster though, Joey Hand has been fun to watch in the races he’s raced for them.
I do believe you missed something. He IS a car owner who recognized a good racing deal when he bought into the charter system and he has been able to hold on to his charters per Nascar rules as they accrue into a fortune. Just because they don't live up to your or the other poster expectation mean little. What matters is that he is allowed to compete with his charters. Don't make me go stick n ball and the lower teams in their organizations. :)

People need to realize that nascar is just a small portion of the whole RWR team. Besides the 2 cup entries I belive he has a part time Xfinity team?, an Indy car team that is fairly competitive and an IMSA team.

I really don't have any problem with what his cup teams are doing. Someone has to run in the back and if it wasn't RWR everyone would be complaining about someone else. Would I like them to be a little faster? Yeah but I'm sure they would be too

They went on and on about Front Row for years. Front Row is currently in first place in the Truck series and not a peep lol.

You just repeated the point made by one of the “usual suspects”.

Thanks for the support.
Glad to help. I had thought you made a good point and was trying to expound on that. That’s why I couldn’t agree with him 100%

Both the Indy and IMSA team are pretty much RWR bringing a chassis and funding to another team to run the program. Operationally it’s a lot different than what they do in NASCAR.

Then let Rick go run Trucks.

Someone has to run in the back, but it doesn't have to be the same team week after week for years.

RWR allowed to compete, yes. He’s making money, yes. Is his Cup organization winning though? I don’t have expectations for RWR, you put those words in my mouth, I’m not even a fan of them nor do I care what they do on track. But his Cup team for the most part has been abysmal results wise for the better part of his entire involvement with Cup, just look at the results....they speak for themselves. Good for him though he has charters and will/is financially successful, I don’t think that’s tied to RWR’s on track results is what I was trying to say.

The saga continues... tic toc
I think the preacher has already given him the we're family talk with a boot in his ass out the door lol.

But Wendell Scott and J.D. McDuffie are posthumous heroes.
Those gentlemen have become sympathetic figures.

Rick Ware is not a race car driver. It’s unlikely he will attain similar status - posthumously or otherwise.

The longer this goes on, I really don’t think he’s coming back to JGR. Just crazy to me.

Those gentlemen (and many hundreds more) selfishly took bread off the family table to follow their dream.

Rick Ware seems to be bringing home steak and lobster every week.

Whom should we celebrate?

Whomever you like.

I know people who lost businesses, houses, cars, and family to the habit.

To me, its just an unwarranted dislike for someone who loves racing.

He's gotten his team(s) stuff together and is much better than seeing the type of teams we have seen previously. Is he the best owner, no? Remember Jay Robinson, Ron Devine, and Phil Parsons?

Now those were some bad organizations. When you search BK Racing, you see the word "BANK" underneath it.

Same.
Rick Ware is not one of those people.
Agree. I can’t recall ever having made a negative comment about Mr. Ware’s business acumen.

Currently, he sits on $40 Million worth of NASCAR charters. His other racing assets are secured by that.

I don't know about the "real deal" but the bar Ty has to clear is pretty low. 4 wins in three years for what they have been paying Kyle Busch compared to boy wonder's price staring them in the face has to be a big factor in their decision no matter how they spin it.

Both were talents that both really never got a chance in the high level equipments of their days. Ran on shoestring budgets and outran a lot of the fields and worked on their cars themselves. A part of the independent days of the sport before the Hendricks, Gibbs, and Penskes of the sport entered.

Seeing Daniel's growth this season has been awesome, he's finally putting it all together.

A team and owner that believes in his ability, not just the money he brings in.
I agree, it's awesome. Daniel has had to endure a lot of xenophobic hate from knuckle-dragging cretins on social media and in the grandstands... "Go back where you belong, wetback" and worse. After Bubba Wallace, Daniel has been targeted with that sh!t more than anyone in Nascar, and it's flat out disgusting. But he has persevered... with grace and dignity... and it's awesome to see him thriving at Trackhouse. His journey in America is an inspiring bootstrap story, and I hope he remains a star of the sport for a long time.

One year ago, I thought Bubba would win and I thought Daniel would win... and now they both have done that and both have signed new contracts as well. Bravo.

Ty's performance has seriously undercut any leverage KyBu had on Coach. He's replaceable as Ty is the real deal and the whole world can see it.
Before we make Ty the next sliced bread let's see how he does this week. Let's me honest Pocono and Michigan were raced that Toyota clearly had a performance advantage and Indy was just survival. I think it will be very interesting to see how he performs at Richmond. If he legitimately outrun Kyle this week I think it's all over

Suarez was never going to be out of the sport entirely as long as (Billionaire) Carlos Slim continued to fund him. He just kept ending up in rides where either the manufacturer (with JGR) or the owner (Gene Haas with the 41) were incredibly impatient.

Being a new and growing team that's establishing itself, Justin Marks has a little bit more room to be patient, I'd think.
