2014 Bristol - Food City 500 - Pre Race Thread

While the talking heads yammer about this car beong the fastest that Nascar has ever seen, the speeds are down about a 1/4 second from last year.

Get it together before SHR decides to cut the weight and go to 3 teams.
 
If Michael McDowell is second right now I have a feeling the track record is in danger. Everyone else is in race trim and he's in q trim. Brad is about 3 tenths off right now in race trim.
 
quite a few drivers and crew chiefs are shaking their heads about now. Qualifying should be pretty good.

Kyle Busch looking to lead 10,000 laps: #18-Kyle Busch is approaching a major series milestone, one that could come this Sunday at Bristol. With 140 laps led - something he's done four times at Bristol - Busch will become the 15th driver in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history with 10,000 laps led.
 
I know it's not cup, but it's crazy that Sam Hornish Jr doesn't have a full time Nationwide ride. The guy almost won the championship and now he's a part timer? Stupid......

If the chances of rain on Sunday get any higher, it will be a sure thing for Tuesday racing. I'll practically have the place to myself.

You're probably right. I know that was his sponsor a few years back so they probably did something like that at some point.
