2017 Texas - AAA Texas 500 - Pre-Race Thread

Here comes another aero parade with announcers screaming 200MPH !! . Not a lot of racing except for 1 or 2 laps after a restart.

Maybe so, maybe no. But at least according to Alan Gustafson, crew chief for Elliott’s Hendrick Motorsports entry, the rules of engagement going forward may have changed.

“I’m cool with it,” Gustafson said from pit road after surveying the damage to Elliott’s No. 24 Chevrolet. “When we have his back tires jacked up going into probably (turn) three at Texas, that’ll be a bigger corner, then just be good with that, too.”
“I think he’s improved,” Gustafson said. “He’s done an incredible job and it’s unfortunate that race wins have eluded us because I think that’s the only thing that we haven’t been able to do this year. We’ve done everything else.”

Go ahead. Jack them both up, and your Playoffs are over. Kill somebody, and your career is over. Not worried. Toyotas have been pretty quick. Don't know if Chase can even catch Denny's back bumper. Not sure who this team is.....The hard on himself sweetie, or chest thumping crew chief who talks ****?

Brad's pass on the track... looked the same as Chase Elliott's pass on Suarez at Talladega a few weeks ago. Except Chase never got fully alongside Suarez, just to the quarter panel. Still, I don't blame Chase for going for that hole, and I don't think anyone else does either.
