2017 Texas - AAA Texas 500 - Pre-Race Thread

Practice underway on NBCSN. Listening to Toyota Tool Burton saying that Denny's dump was accidental.
Apparently the NASCAR community is too small to ever have impartial analysts. Someone's always connected to someone or something else.

Blaney unloads fast

Wow 88 degrees is so hot. I hope we don't lose a track soon due to climate change.I so hope Daytona is not wiped off the map

Inexcusable for the 24 team. Doing themselves no favors in the situation they're in.
And some on here don't understand why we get frustrated with Alan Gustafson. He can't seem to pass tech or get his guy's to make decent pit stops.

I guess they were trying to push the limits a little too much for Sunday? Hope that thing is fast tomorrow or it'll look like it was all for no reason.

I know they repaved and reconfigured this place, but 200.9 MPH...they are still too quick, in my opinion. +2.5 MPH up from April pole as well. Tons of development done on these cars through the season.

That was smack dab in the middle of a scorching Spring in Texas though, its cooled down and that surface will be no where near as slippery as it was then.

I think it will still be a good race though, its supposed to be between 85 and 90 on race day.

How bout that Kurt Busch kid getting up on the wheel and grabbing that poil attaboy

I thought the "cool" spell had came over Texas as well like Florida.

Its been in the 60s' in some cases the past week or so.
That was because I was there on vacation. I brought the cold from upstate New York

Blake Koch's CC. He does the Thursday preview show with Marty Snider.

Ok, so he can't made as a cup guy so he's a part time bull Shirter. I wonder want he saw that made it look clean, did he say?

He basically said due to what was riding on the line and it being the playoffs it was clean. Pretty weak argument.

Loving this race from a fantasy standpoint; place differential possibilities galore. It seems like TMS and Atlanta tend to feature big names coming from the back, more so since the LIS...

There is absolutely no reason these cars should be going 200 mph on a 1.5 mile track. Aero of course will take center stage over everything else, get out in clean air and run away from the field as usual.

200mph average is crazy fast. I haven't monitored race-weekend activities all weekend...how fast were corner entry speeds? Somewhere in the 205-208mph bracket I'd imagine...
