2017 Texas - AAA Texas 500 - Pre-Race Thread

I get what your saying, I just think they don’t respect him or some don’t respect him.. if Denny for one sec thought chase would get out the car after the race and beat his A** he wouldn’t have done that lol..!but he knew chase would do exactly what chase do after each race.. first time I ever seen chase show any emotion at all ... that’s why I think it’s important to have some emotion and personality to show others your not going to take there bull.. Denny Hamlin wasn’t worried about chase.

I liked the Blaney / Harvick incident, last week, (my take on it) Harvick gave Blaney a punch as he started to walk away, Blaney turned and punched him back, in what looked like a harder punch. Don’t think Harvick expected that.

The Harvick/Blaney thing would've been big, big news if not for the dust up between #11 & #24.

If Harvick feels in any way wronged or slighted (even a wee bit) by Blaney, he will not soon forget about it, IMO.

He needs to concentrate on winning now. Worry about that stuff when you don't need a win so much.
He can still win after rattling his cage a time or two if the aero is not toast. I say strike when the iron is hot.

Can't believe it's already Texas.. Its gone by so quick.. especially considering shortly after the season ends I'm having a baby.. I've been counting the races to keep track of how much time is left for that (easier to remember than counting back from her due date lol)... My gf is getting big! Seasons almost over lol

Bummed for the 24. Hopefully they make it to the front before the end of the first segment....

Around the top 15 or above by the first segment for the 24. Johnson does it routinely and Chase runs harder than JJ does would be my guess. We probably won't get much info about it because POINTS, but he will be coming I believe. That 24 bunch is pissed off

Congrats and be sure to enjoy the moment ! :)

So if it's a boy, what are the chances of him being named Joey ? :D

Thanks :)

No chance of that lol I don't like the name for my own kid and even in joking it was shot down immediately.

It's a girl anyway.. her name will be Charlotte (tried middle name "Motor Speedway".. also shot down)
:lol2:

Get on the Blaney boat while there’s still time.

He doesn't try as hard as Chase. :D
Hambone looks good. Maybe Chase can take him out as he is being lapped. :idunno:
The least talked about "storyline" (I hate that term) in Texas.....The Toyota improvement since Texas I. They were terrible then.

Austin, Buescher, Stenhouse. Are any of them better than Chase?

Didn't think so. Next lazy argument please.

Chase is much more consistent that Ryan.

Just that one win makes all the difference right now.

Even without the win he was ahead of Blaney before dumpgate last weekend. Solid to say the least.

There are those who have won a race and those who have not.

Winning races is why you get out of bed.

Yeah I have never been lulled into that way of thinking. I mean it sounds great and all
but there is just so much to the journey that is filled with little personal wins along the way that really
make it worth while. I am glad all of the 40 drivers get up and show up just to entertain us even though
half don't have a chance of winning.

For these folks, there is no substitute for winning a race. Next time you speak to one of these people, ask him or her about those little personal wins. Ask Chase Elliott. I’m sure he could explain it.

Being the big dog for 1 week. That’s all there is.

I guess I would be more interested in how they handle the disappointment of continuing to fail
over 90% of the time and what motivates them to keep coming to the shop. Quite sure Chase
has a realistic grasp on the big picture. But I get the "If you are not first, you are last" deal.

Pretty much everybody “loses” every week.

That is precisely why winning matters ... for 1week.
