I would love JTG....but they left because I don't think they had the funds and they only have one charter. I think another car is a lock at 23XI, and something else down the line...probably not next year IMO.@Revman is the Toyota expert, and I believe he said TRD ideally wants 8 cars. Right now you're at 4 with JGR and likely 2 with 23XI. I wouldn't be surprised if they converted an existing team (JTG Daugherty?) or added a new one.
He's been mulling retirement for 5 years so this wouldn't be surprisingCan’t say I’ll miss him
With no deal for next year, Ryan Newman says he's just trying 'to live every day to the fullest'
Uncertain if he will race NASCAR next season or if Sunday will be his last start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Ryan Newman is philosophical on the future.nascar.nbcsports.com
His 2019 season was quite good, just hasn't been the same since the Daytona crash. He's been mulling retirement for 5 years so this wouldn't be surprising
Hooray

Depends, I think it will be better for the organization to just have full-time drivers. This puts JRM at 5 cars for 2022.

It gives more time to Meyer, Smith, etc to continue their respected development tracks.
I think Gragson could be the odd man out.
Nice.
It’s still very much a “could”, but I’m leaning towards “will” with that kind of announcement.Nice.

Nah, I hope he stays in to continue to piss everyone off.One could only dream

Sam Meyer is supposedly going full-time at JRM next year:
Kelly was just one speedway and said its completely possible they run 5 full time teams next year and a 6th car for JR to fulfill his 1 race a yearWith Mayer and Berry going full-time I wonder if that means Gragson goes to Cup.
Definitely somebody who's burned a lot of bridges. Can’t say I’ll miss him

I wonder if NASCAR will enable use of current Cup cars in the Xfinity Series in the near future?First I heard of it but in reality not that suprising. If you want a charter you have to buy someone out and this is the year to do it because whatever inventory they have is basically worthless
I was wondering the same thing if the frames were the same or close enough.I wonder if NASCAR will enable use of current Cup cars in the Xfinity Series in the near future?
Seems like a no-brainer.

Is it really a waste if the car likely isn’t there without him?Annett is the one I want gone. Just a waste of a good race car.
The Annett family owns TMC transportation, the largest flatbed carrier in the U.S. Hopefully you can put two and two together to figure out his sponsorship.Point taken, but I guess I'm implying that a driver worthy of that ride would be able to secure decent sponsorship. one would HOPE that the current sponsor would see the value in backing a driver that actually competes for wins and championships. Hell lately, Annett can't even drive the car at all.
get help, you have no idea how much money Pilot makes having an exclusive fuel stop card for the largest flatbed carrier in the U.S. They order around 1500 new Petes a yearI'm referring to the Pilot/Flying J portion of the sponsorship. I'm sure there is some kind of BtoB deal going on there, but that doesn't prevent them from doing their own deal with JRM that is not dependent on Annett.
SOA is absolutely correct. There is big money not just in the fuel purchased but also the money the driver spends.get help, you have no idea how much money Pilot makes having an exclusive fuel stop card for the largest flatbed carrier in the U.S. They order around 1500 new Petes a year
