2022 Silly Season

@Revman is the Toyota expert, and I believe he said TRD ideally wants 8 cars. Right now you're at 4 with JGR and likely 2 with 23XI. I wouldn't be surprised if they converted an existing team (JTG Daugherty?) or added a new one.

I would love JTG....but they left because I don't think they had the funds and they only have one charter. I think another car is a lock at 23XI, and something else down the line...probably not next year IMO.

Hattori I could see being the “out of the blue” on since it would be a Japanese relationship. I could also see Petty flipping.

This puts JRM at 5 cars for 2022.
Depends, I think it will be better for the organization to just have full-time drivers.

It gives more time to Meyer, Smith, etc to continue their respected development tracks.

I think Gragson could be the odd man out.

I have a reliable source.

I have been a Gragson supporter, but he has been pretty underwhelming this year, and hasn't really taken the step forward I thought he would. I am now at the don't care one way or another point on his return to Jr. Motorsports next year. Annett is the one I want gone. Just a waste of a good race car.

Sam Meyer is supposedly going full-time at JRM next year:

He and Ty had quite a thing going on in ARCA and last week Mayer qualified 2nd at Indy. He got into Elliott and later Elliott got into him but he was pretty salty on the road course. Just turned 18 so he is ready to go.

I don’t remember ever seeing anything about 23XI buying Front Row, this is a new one for me

First I heard of it but in reality not that suprising. If you want a charter you have to buy someone out and this is the year to do it because whatever inventory they have is basically worthless

I wonder if NASCAR will enable use of current Cup cars in the Xfinity Series in the near future?

Seems like a no-brainer.

Hopefully xfinity isn’t in too big of a hurry to go onto a next gen style car.

I would love to see their current car ran longer or as mentioned above, maybe the current cup stuff used by the xfinity series at some point.

Point taken, but I guess I'm implying that a driver worthy of that ride would be able to secure decent sponsorship. one would HOPE that the current sponsor would see the value in backing a driver that actually competes for wins and championships. Hell lately, Annett can't even drive the car at all.

The Annett family owns TMC transportation, the largest flatbed carrier in the U.S. Hopefully you can put two and two together to figure out his sponsorship.

I'm referring to the Pilot/Flying J portion of the sponsorship. I'm sure there is some kind of BtoB deal going on there, but that doesn't prevent them from doing their own deal with JRM that is not dependent on Annett.

:XXROFL:get help, you have no idea how much money Pilot makes having an exclusive fuel stop card for the largest flatbed carrier in the U.S. They order around 1500 new Petes a year

SOA is absolutely correct. There is big money not just in the fuel purchased but also the money the driver spends.

And Jimmy Haslem is worth three billion. I seriously doubt Pilot Flying J's ability to sponsor a Xfinity car is dependent on Michael Annett being the driving.
