Camping World Truck Series 2017 Thread

Considering he'd probably lose his sponsorship if he wasn't racing he'd probably be forced to shut the team down anyway. And as he said what's the point of owning a team if you can't drive your trucks.

If the Trucks go with a crate motor option, and NASCAR continues to reduce Cup participation, a couple of dominoes will fall IMO. First, Toyota will pull out. Big check to KBM gone. Reduced seat time for Kyle means less sponsorship. More money gone. Thus, KBM gone. NASCAR could be screwing itself IMO. You don't hear me say that much.

Yeah I think crate motor option will hurt the series more than it helps. I get that it's cost cutting but it leaves no incentive for manufacture's. KBM would lose support from Toyota and if he's not allowed to race his own trucks he'd be losing sponsorship support on top of already losing money with the team. It just wouldn't be worth it to stay in the series in my opinion.

As a manufacturer based fan, I would be a hypocrite if I watched a race with crate motors. I used to think that NASCAR couldn't do anything to threaten my passion for this sport. I was wrong. After the initial infection, I am very concerned about this **** spreading to Xfinity and Cup. Won't be a huge deal to me if it goes that far because Toyota will be gone and so will I.

I am not a fan of the crate motor idea, I like the idea that it could save money, but enough to cut that last real tie to the manufactures

Trucks at Michigan? not one of my favorite tracks for the trucks. KDB is back in his teaching roll this weekend.

You kidding me? The truck race at Michigan is routinely one of the best, they punch enough of an aero hole into the air to allow a competitor to draft up which is why we see quite a bit of close racing and last lap passes

not trying to rain on your parade but for me personally. There is an almost certain possibility that the only cup driver racing in the trucks KDB, unless he pulls a monkey stunt will be half a lap at least ahead of the next contender the whole race. I don't get a kick out of that like some do sorry. It would be better if the cameras just let him go and focus on the rest of the racing in the field but that probably isn't going to happen, but one can hope.

No It wont. The yappers in the booth will be slobbering all over him the entire race. They always do because they're yoder puppets.

Eh, the great thing about the Michigan package (at least the past few years) is it's like the old slingshot plate races. I don't expect it to be a Kyle Busch runaway.

I got nothing against the Michigan track, it's wide multi lane and fast. IMO the trucks were one driver away from have a fair field of talent. Never know though, I'm going to watch it anyway. Pocono can happen.:D

This race is going to be great, a lot of great handling trucks in the top 12. Bell and Rhodes have a good pieces as well in traffic, so this race is going to be wide open. I think Crafton has probably the best handling truck there. Bubba looked great in traffic with the 99 and Bell is going to mad fast as well, Kyle Busch is not going to win this race today.

Enfinger's crew chief is being allowed to serve his penalties concurrently. Not only too low but the weight wasn't right.

UPDATE: NASCAR states that Hensley can serve both suspensions at the same time, so he will only miss two races total. By sitting out tonight's Bristol race, he will fulfill his one-race suspension for the heights infraction and one of the two races he's suspended for the safety violation. Hensley then will have to miss the Sept. 3 race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. He'll be able to return for the Sept. 15 race at Chicagoland Speedway.

If it rains I really like Tags's chances. Otherwise winner is one of the two front row trucks. I've been really impressed with both of them recently, and they are great on road courses
