Wow, did not see that coming
well Truex's relevancy is ending...... I kid I kid.
Guess we'll find out how good truex really is

Whoooooooa. So who do you replace him with? Ratcliff? This is nuts.
He would be a great guy to have around the shop if you were trying to start up a Cup program...
Life on the road.
Carl Edwards narrowly misses a title, leaves the 19 team
Cole Pearn narrowly misses a title, leaves the 19 team
CC of the decade I would say
Cole Pearn knows he was shivved in the back. He's had enough of this nonsense.
Oh well, Back to work -- Play On!
One of the best racing geniuses to enter NASCAR since Evernham, IMO.
Best wishes to him.
I did not see that coming. I thought for sure he would stick around for ages to come following the incredible success and instrumentality in Toyota's recent dominance. Enjoy your retirement, Pearnstar!
Wow, just wow, but respect to him for wanting more time to be with his family to be there for his kids more.
Wow, I am surprised.
But good on him for putting his children first, it is the greatest measure of man for doing the right thing.
Really surprising news. I'll be interested to see how Truex performs in the coming years.
This one really shocked me. Good on him for going with what felt right.
Geez, rack up the wins, make the final four regularly, even score a championship, ...
But get just ONE set of tires mixed up ...
It will be *really* interesting to see who replaces him on the 19.
same as edwards,
he realized vince was really running the show.
Best CC in auto racing, leaving right in his prime. Now we will see what Truex is capable of without him.
History repeating itself.....
Evernham left Gordon to start his own team with Dodge.
Pearn is leaving Truex to start his own team with Dodge.
If I was HMS I would offer this guy a job and say dude, here is 2 million, come to work 4 days a week, take off the rest
There, fixed that for ya...
This is random, there has got to be more to this. Maybe he was that butthurt over losing a championship due to bad tires lol
could be a lot more obligations with Gibbs and the rest of the Toyota brass being in Charlotte instead of out in the boonies of Colorado in a more laid back atmosphere
or bad script.
I’ll take it at face value. Some people can stay at the top & enjoy it while being away from family, some people can’t. It’s not unique to NASCAR.
Grinding away when young and walk away with health and happiness. That’s everyone’s goal in any profession.
I hope Martin Truex Jr. doesn't have the drop in performance like Jeff Gordon did when Evernham left, or when Rick Hendrick broke up Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus.
Wow well good on him if he's walking away to spend more time with his family. I'm sure he's made enough by now anyway.
Side note: I find it strange and maybe it's just a coincidence but the last two guys that have walked away while on the top of their game have been from JGR......

I'd imagine the pressure to perform and get wins is immense when you're at a top tier team like JGR.
He will in 2021.
You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain
Who's gonna fill his t-shirt now.
Well that’s some huge news.
Maybe Preacher Joe was finally going to enforce a dress code.....
I think so too but best of wishes to him and his family. Already won a title with the "B" team anyway.
He got Pearn't out?
Separate names with a comma.
