Daytona 500 Pole Day

God help us all if Jeff wins the championship this season, I can already see it now how people will want to say it was fixed for him to win it.

OK, for everyone calling "the fix" because Gordon is on the pole, you do realize that he is always a threat to win the pole, and to win the race, no matter where he goes. But suddenly it's fixed because it's his last year? Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

The preshow for the Shootout is at 5 PM!?

The hell is it with the stretched preshows?

I will be out of school in time to knock out my HW and watch in peace.

About as dumb when people said it for Danica and Austin the last two years.

So you're taking those posts seriously?

It's Johali and StandOnIt. When are they not sarcastic? Heck you should know by now I love being sarcastic on the internet because people don't catch it.lol

calm down Gordo's, it wasn't that, it was the format and was more luck than having the fastest car..he just happened to win...now if you say it was superior driving skill, that could probably get a discussion going.

It is dumb for people to think they could possibly fix the outcome of the pole. People obviously dont understand all the variables. But I do have to laugh at irony of the last three years.

Yeah the irony of it is really funny, I agree with that but I love laughing at the people who want to say it's fixed.

lol at the conspiracy theorists.

Seriously?

As if anyone could "fix" that cluster****? God, some people are insufferable.

Just in case Nascar is looking at our comments I must include myself on the side of " The new format sux" France is killing everything

man I bet there are a bunch of owners with crumpled up cars that are pissed. bet we won't be seeing much of brian at the track this year.

I hope the drivers who only had one car who was caught up in that wreck can get another one before the Duels.
most can only afford one good bullet for the biggest possible payday in Nascar. Now it is drag out leftovers. Just can't believe somebody running things is so out of step with racing. Listening to the media pencil necks or your own idea, either way Brian needs his head examined.

I totally missed the quals. Is there gonna be a re-run?

Just sucks when you got some drivers who always seem to agree with everything Nascar does. If all the drivers or at least all the top drivers spoke up and said how they disliked something I'm sure Nascar would listen. At least I would hope so.

All four TRD powered JGR Toyota Camrys in the Top 7. Smiling. We've got speed. Very happy.

I wonder why JR didn't back to get to his teammates?
They were all concerned about crossing that S/F line in time... it looks like the last 3 or 4 barely made it. Doesn't matter at this point anyway.. they all already had great starting spots for the duel.

you got drafting luck, there is no way to tell who has speed with that cluster puck ya twit. Out of the cars that survived last night's wreck fest, they looked pretty good, but it wasn't nothing to gloat about, many cars had bad luck with wrecks and penalties.

Who had the fastest speed overall out of all sessions. Been looking for the results but cannot find it

There is on direct-tv but its a couple hours you cant get back, i suggest a nap or a stroll around the block
Only wanna watch it cuz Gordon landed on the pole LOL
If it was another driver I wouldnt care to see a reair.

According to Jayski, Almirola in round 1B, 202.370 mph. Of course, that's in the draft and Group 1B had an extra lap to come up to speed, so nobody really knows who was fastest.

Probably true, but without my Polly Anna Fanboy ****, I have no place here. :D

When are people going to understand that Qualifying is no longer about speed? It hasn't been since the new format. It is a competition. As such, much is out of the driver's hands.

Which is precisely the issue here. Qualifying is and always has been predicated on speed. It was never meant to be a competition or a dog and pony show. NASCAR has once again taken something else that wasn't broken and used it as a clay pigeon for shotgun practice. It's ridiculous.

Who knows. They spent 98% of the event parked on pit road. My guess is the pace car.
