Fall/Winter Weather Thread

Currently -6 with a wind chill of -23...and it's only going to get colder. All schools in 6 county area are closed for tomorrow, including the colleges and universities. Most of the day care centers are also closed. Wind chill warning in effect here until noon Tuesday... some areas until 3pm Tuesday.:(

Dog wakes me up at 5am to go for his morning walk. I quickly check the temperature on computer:

The state closed all of the public schools today because it is too dangerous to have kids waiting outside for a bus. The commute was much lighter today. I wonder if the car will start at the end of the day (I keep jumper cables in the car during the winter).

After reading the above posts I feel kinda silly bitching about 21 degree's this morning, 7 degree's tonight, 10 degree's tomorrow night, 19 degree's Wednesday night, but bitch I will. GGGGGRRRRRRRR.

I LOVE those, Andy. ROTFL

It was 18* on my front porch 3 hours ago. It has since risen all the way to 20*! At least the wind has quit trying to tear the roof off the house.
Predicted tonight --- 13*.

13°, sounds like y'all are sweating in a heat wave.
Not today, maybe Wednesday. :D

The one thing I hate about cold weather is that I can't put on enough clothes to be truly warm all over --- there is always some place on my body
that is cold. And, it's hell trying to buckle a seat belt with all that stuff on. ;)

And hell once I get in a warm truck and try to take it off to buckle my seat belt or even move.

You live in Minnesota right? They closed the schools here too.

People complain, or brag about their weather. But I wouldn't trade places with anyone in California for anything. Within a 5 hour drive of my house are countless race tracks, many of which are legendary. From the Carolinas to Pennsylvania, there are all sorts of my favorite little bullrings, where cars are slingin' dirt all summer long, and where I'll be spending many a Friday or Saturday night. Sure, I might get a rainout here or there through the summer, but this is where I belong, and where I love to live.

And I know damn well that have no business being anywhere where white ****t falls out of the sky or where the thermometer gets down past 40 for any extended period of time. :D
Plus I love the ocean. :)

I've lived here for 70 years and I love it and I aint goin anywhere but I reserve the right to bitch if I want to.

Some enjoy the Winter Olympics, some the Summer, some both, while others simply change the channel and let them come and go.

It's currently -2°, Wind Chill: -21°. Forecast high is 7° with wind chills -27°. NWS forecast and the Intellicast iPhone/iPad app have been dead on.

Forget the time and date on this pic. It was taken this morning from the comfort of my desk chair before sunrise. Don't know what it was with the windchill but -12 is damn cold with or without wind. It has since warmed up to the current temp of -7.
