Hamlin fined for comments

about all Hamlin has any experience with is the car of tomorrow, I don't think he did much racing in the Gen 4 as they are calling it these days, so that was all he has to compare it too, unlike some of the older drivers. I bet he has had plenty of calls from law firms.:)

He ran a full season in the Gen-4 car in 2006. He ran a few races in it in 2005 too, and some of the 2007 races still used that car.

I don't see how he could lose this one. Saying something like 'It's like when we started out with the gen 5. It takes time to figure it out' isn't slamming anything. nascar sure is touchy about the CoT legacy when they should be proud. It sure saved a few lives, and that's what the last 2 gens are about.

Who rules on the appeal?
NASCAR's appeal process
1. A written request for an appeal must be made to the National Stock Car Racing Chief Appellate Officer within 10 calendar days of the notice of the penalty.

They include men and women from a variety of motorsports backgrounds, some active in the sport and some retired. They include promoters, industry leaders, and dignitaries from other forms of professional motorsports.
4. Appeal would be heard; decision handed down.
5. If the team is not satisfied with the decision, they could make a final appeal to the National Stock Car Racing Chief Appellate Officer. All decisions are final.

Bad call on nascars part and this is why I hate them. Nascar is mafia run and judge jury and executioner. Too bad other drivers wont grow a pair and tell it like it is. FWIW, Im not even a Hamlin fan either but Im sick of nascar and their nazi ways.

I'm more upset with nascar constantly shooting themselves in the foot. This fine is sure to bring the 'new openess from drivers' to a screeching halt, and that's something nascar has been begging the drivers to do. They did much the same with 'have at it' when they put no real limits on retaliation for a bump or not giving a driver what he wanted.

Nascar appears desperate to me with stuff like this. Its so sad for the young drivers coming up. Guys like Stewart, JJ, and Gordon need to speak out on this but I guess they dont want to hurt their bank accounts.

They seem to take a selfish 'It's working for me, so why stir the pot' attitude. Remember, Tony and Jeff are 2 of the guys who originated the 'don't race hard' gentlemans agreement that's been boring us to death.

tin foil hat...I wonder if the rain is an omen a protest if you will for Denny's penalty, the sky is crying..Robin is staying indoors...bzzzt

Based on the length of his thread it looks like NASCAR messed up. I wonder if other drivers will comment on Denny's observations.

It appears that within the confines of the media center that they are not even asking any of these drivers for their thoughts.

I was impressed that she could make it through 15 minutes without a Stenhouse question. Unless I missed it?

How does Ricky feel about your sore neck?

I don't think they asked about Ricky or Denny. She talks like she's boring the sheet out of herself, which is poetic justice.

Nascar wanted to muffle Gen6 criticism, they only amplified the point, along with revealing their own lack of confidence.

They should fine their selves for their sorry incompetence. Then they should fire one of their big gun officials, as in a Helton, Pemberton, Briana, or Lisa as a peace offering to the public. After observing their burnt sacrifice, I would be well pleased and forgive them in spite of the pathetic blemished tarnished offering. Just so long as one of their high end tarnished idiots suffers a great loss..

Some reporter said nascar hasn't found a suitable deal to transport that giant Titan contraption, so it's not at Las Vegas.

Nope. Did you see that thing?
See what? Stuff that they bragged about for so long. OH LOOK AT US! WE FIGURED IT OUT!

OH WAIT! maybe not

Raceview ZERO. Hamlin crap ZERO. No air titan? Really?

It's some industrial compressors. It's not the space shuttle.

It would probably cost $50,000 to transport both of those one way, so they will probably stay in one place. Then nascar will mandate that each track buy 2 of their own....from nascar.

That would require them to be able have the courage and humility to right a mistake, apologize, and move on. This group on the other hand looks like they have censored the press at the race, and I bet the drivers also, and are attempting to compare it to an equipment violation, while they hide behind their rules. Sweep it under the rug..."this is downgrading the product" about like this action is detrimental to stock car racing

Nope. Did you see that thing?

At the risk of being fined for actions detrimental, what could be the issue with transporting this...

+ one million.

Nascar is incompetent and paranoid to put it mildly.

What you talking about? The compressors? They should get some from the west coast
