well we had a very interesting night last night...my bill got home from work around 5:05..we mosied out to the garage and got on the scooter..thought we were gonna go on a nice evening ride, enjoy the scenery, adn get some fresh air. Well just by chance we were riding past his place of employment , when we seen a car parked in front of the soda machine. Ordinarily, that wouldnt be unusual, but the soda machine door was open, so we pulled in to see what was going on, as Bill was getting off the bike and was asking the man (with a handful of dollar bills...no pun inteneded $bill..lol) what he was doing he replied "gettting something to drink" , as Bill approached the car, the dude (with the money in his hand) jumped in the car and spend off as i was getting his plate number, BIll hollered at me to get on the bike. I thought, certainly Bill isnt going to chase this phucker, but he did..we chased him for close to 10 minutes, the driver of the car even cut through a yard at a medical complex to lose us, and we followed.We were doing 100 going down Union street, but we got behind "lapped traffic" and lost them..All this time I am on the phone with 911 and they couldnt hear me because of the wind int the phone, so after we lost them we went back to the shop and waited close to a half hour for the police to get there. I did manage to remember most of the plate number and the make and model of the car so I am sure they will get them. Whoever it was knew what they were doing, they drilled out the lock completely and got the money. There wasnt even a metal shaving on the ground, but the dumb a$$ forgot to wear gloves and the police (after they had to go back to the station to get the fingerprint kit because they forgot to bring it) got several sets of prints off the money box. So , that was my excitement for the night, it could only happen in my world..lmao

Hope to make it to Lincoln this Sunday. Finally got a starter to work on the LM. Rear drive stuff can be a pain,but it does save engines..........Got to go to a visitation. Lost a good buddy from bowlin..............Check back later.....................................BB

$bill, looks like will be a good race the 22nd at lincoln. I hope it's a little warmer than last sunday. Also hope the racers will finaly figure out that Gary is not going to alow alcohol in the pits! Some of the teams left early without pay because they thought the rule didn't apply them. Gary pull one car right out of the staging area lineup and told him to load the car and go. He will not tolerate intoxicated racers. You would think with the signs at every entrance to the race track NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED they would get the idea. Also had a couple ppl who thought they could slip into the pits without a pit pass, too many ppl in the pits becomes a safty issue. The problem is when someone gets hurt in the pits without a pass it's an insurance thing too. I think the word is out that Lincoln Speedway will not tolerate alcohol on the grounds anywhere! Heck I injoy a cold beer myself once in a while, there's a time and place, but when they say no alcohol they mean no alcohol.

We can't run the shows this weekend. NO ALUMINIUM engines at Spoon!!!!!
I meant I hope I can come over. We gonna try to make that 3G show at FC on Friday. Alcohol has no place in race track pits.... Denny will let ya pop,ONLY after the races are over. None whatsoever in the stands.

Now people sneekin in the pits, These slugs should be Barred completely. This is the kind who steal stuff from you, like lil Gary's jack.
Gary is on the right track with these calls. We don't need trash hangin around race tracks like Lincoln..................................................BB
 
guess you need to hire security so your stuff don't grow legs and walk off on ya. pretty bad when you have to steal others stuff.
 
gary has had so many problems with people bringing booze to the track..sneaking in...bringing food etc. then when the people get caught they get all pi$$y...but they dont realize that all the food and bev.'s that they bring in is taking money away from the track....i personally think he should check coolers as they come in the gate, dont wait till they are already in and have a chance to hide it. that way ya dont have to pi$$ with giving their money back..just send them on their way..jmo
 
We always take our own food, and sodas. :lurk: I figger draggin a $40,000 car in, and puttin out $125-$175 in Passes, :eek: to run for the money that we're paid, should allow that. ;) Never been hassled by a promoter yet. In fact, Sargant bummed the occasional Diet Pepsi from us. Morey would threaten us, but normally backed off when bribed with a pork barbeque................................................BB

In the day. We ran Hobo, SS, e mod, Sportsman,all the Family in the stands, the dollar would only stretch so far. Ed always made up for us in the pits. That boy would eat 6 or 7 track dogs a nights. :D .................................BB
 
i agree that food and drinks should be allowed in the pits , but not in the stands and definetly not booze...no exceptions
 
morning all .. yep , it's all ready. i cranked the right front adjuster up a couple rounds and added some more weight. hope it helps a bit more.

yeah steve you got it in the ballpark, just some fine tuning a little move at a time. you'l win the feature. maybe a little luck on the draw for start and a track that's not so dusty would help too

$bill i would luv to get to F. C. tomorow but like I'd have to clone myself if I made it HA! I wonder if that would hurt! It's been like stuffing 10lbs. of it in a 5 lb. bag around here all week. I need to be in 3 places at 7:30pm saturday night. I think I'l flip a coin and let it come up Peoria Speedway. I know it'l hurt some feelings cauz I'm gonna miss a graduation and another event, but racing is going to win out I think! I have a feeling Steve and Miss JS7 Lisa are going to do very well saturday! Like Jerry Reed said in his song I''ve got a long waz to go and a short time to get there. :P Ain't life fun? ;)

Didn't make show. Got some real good laps,but with who showed up we knew the show was out of reach. BIG DOGS showed. :growl: Only 4 regulars in the feature. Cars not tore up, small things to check out,so a good night......................................BB
 
The big money guys are hard to run with! Glad you didn't get the car torn up. Sounds like it was a good show. How did S10 Jr Shickel do?

I Looked at them. Shirley must have it together this year. He won the Peoria Summer Nationals Race last year too.
