Looks like you had a world of trouble at Peoria Saturday........ Don't it get frustrating........................BB

$bill that track was slick as glass! they ran the 4cyl. class feature last... i can tell ya one thing, miss smooth az silk Lisa Montgomery showed em how to come from dead last, 18 cars back, on a restart with 7 laps to go and laydown a solid 6th place finish. man the girl can drive a race car!! :salute:

hehehe,, thats saying it mildly. i seen ron after my feature. my apologise ron . you know why. i'm not running peoria until major changes have been made. i busted my butt friday night until saturday at 5:30 to race just to get tore up once again and for poor track conditions. they put the streets feature after sportsman , mods and late models and my car is not a demo derby car. apparentlly sameone else has the wrong idea what street stocks are. i'm not the best nor the worst. but , enough is enough.

steve i hated to see you get torn up again. i talked to ray guss jr after L.M feature, he said the battery was going dead and the car was just not running. he wasn't making excuses just stating the facts!

i hate seeing me get tore up too . just went out and looked real close at the damage. frame horns are bent , radiator almost was garbage. radiator mounts bent plus misc small stuff.

raymee needs a die hard !

steve i'v said this before about the track prep. the crew at pevely, mo. i-55 have it down to a science. mr. schrader has an big old farmall tractor with a tiller ran off the power takeoff unit. it cuts about 18 inches deep, i'd say, and is maybe 10 feet wide so it takes agood swipe at a time. tilling DOES NOT move the dirt around just on top like grader does. therefore it leaves the track smooth and cut, they hit it with a little water and run it in a little and guess what, bran new track! all the racetrack prompters should send their crew to pevely,mo. for a seminar on how to prep a track, it would be well worth the trip. every time i've been to pevely it's 2 or 3 wide! and bad azzed fast!! mr. ken schrader knows whatz happening :beerbang:

That might cost MONEY................. .....................BB

well it wouldnt probably be as bad ..but they changed the stupid way the features are ran...the hornets and street stock have to race after the mods, sportsman and late models run....then there is too much rubber laid down and it is bad for the street stock..i personally loved the track saturday ..but that is because my car goes like he!! on that kind of track...but we have fwd and little tires...i seen alot of sas cars coming off that track all tore up..sherry needs to do something...im anxious to see how many big names show up for summer nationals...i bet not many..not after last years fiasco...those guys were coming off the track after the heats and putting their cars on the trailers and leaving...it was sad...then in the middle of it they grated it..made no sense to me..but what the heck do i know,...im just a girl..lmao :beerbang:

i was talkin to julie guss about why sherri changed the format. you had mentioned it too lisa, i guess sherrie figures if the races run a little late the 4 cyls won't be as loud. after 10:30pm.mark the drummer in fear of clowns band told me sometimes they can hear the cars all the way to his house and he lives up by moonies tap LOL so maybe she needs to either get the races going sooner, shorten the intermission or something. they used to say the reason for a long intermition was to give the L/M's time to get their cars ready for the feature , course i always figured it waz to sell more concession and BEER!! any how, now that she's starting the races 1/2 hr. sooer and having the L/m's run before the 4cyl,'s i'm,,,,,,

yea , taking a shorter break sometimes or atleast watch the time. if it's a certain time the features start. but , when your working the track at intermission instead of during the week what would we expect ! they can run the hornets last no matter , but with the street stock , we have to have a track. our cars don't hurt nothing trackwise. not like the mods , sports and late models. a good track means better races and maybe less wrecks. course , that would be fun... less wrecks !

and ron , i do want to apologize for the way i ran off so fast and not talking..... i hope you understand.

maybe we can write a book! LOL. there were some mod 's that were not happy 'bout the 3 spin rule. with the track so slick it's kinda hard to not spin especialy when ya can't see for the dust

oh , your not supposed to race in the dust ?? i thought thats what we have been doing all year. when the track was right i thought it was a fluke ! ;)

speakin of dust, we got 3/4 inch of rain saturday and it's already dusty here. one guy said it took all the water to just fill the cracks in his yard! LOL

hehehe, i bet. i went by the track and nothing was done . as usual. look out fairbury .. here i come..

catch everyone later, i've got some house work that needs to be done LOL. a mans work is never done , when his woman is visiting her mother! :D

Whoa guys, you gotta splain yerselves here. For those of us who aren't privvy to what's been going on, yer posts have been intriging to say the least. All I can figure is Guss was in the way and all hell broke loose. Now if this isn't what y'all are talking about, it only means that things are more complicated that I thought. As you know, I just got back from the Sooner state and haven't been keeping up with the races. Details, details. Gimme some details. You do that and I'll give y'all some juicy gossip from my end of the racing. Man, what just one week of racing can do to the racing community.

I'm all ears/eyes. :beerbang: Oh yeah, a tip on traveling to the southwest, stay away from DFW. What a mess and they finished all the work. We're talking pure chaos.

hi buckaroo, glad ya made it back ok. i guess the posts do sound funny to those who were not there LOL. no ray guss jr. wasn't in the same race with steve, and he was not in anyone's way, LOL. actualy the L/M feature was good. the L/M run the tires for hard slick track. Guss was leading the L/M feature and his battery was going dead when he got tied up in lap taffic "running the high side of the track" and finished a close 3rd. most thought ray just got stuck in the traffic but his car was actualy losing power from the battery going dead. .... the action was in the street stocks steve was in. the problem is street stock don't have the soft tires for a hard slick track. the promoter changed the format and started running the L/M first thus making a hard dusty track for street stock, mods and 4cyl. class to run their features on. it was so dusty from the dry hard slick track that many cars were torn up...... how was your trip to the oil country?

steve the street stocks i saw at farmer city, were like the sportsman in peoria ,tube chassis, i think the same cars run fairbury, so you will be pretty heavy. i don't know if they have a weight rule or not. just hope if you run there you are not at too much of a disadvantage weight wise.....i hate to see you leave peoria, but i do understand if you leave,,,,,,,,,
