NASCAR considering radical changes to playoff system

I wonder if it would be possible to compete in just 5 races all year and win the championship.
 
Brian just made things a whole lot tougher. In order to qualify for each chase race, eligible drivers have to participate in the special chase race opening ceremony.



Brian is obviously pandering to the younger fans.

Took my 3 year old grandaughter to a truck race, she did pretty good but I was tired as hell after chasing her around that place all day :)

And yes she is a Kyle Busch fan ---------- I told her Kyle makes M&Ms :smile:

I have a feeling this thread will have a couple more pages by the end of the day. I personally (as Im sure you all are) am looking forward to hearing the details of the new system.. Im wondering if they already let the cat out of the bag or if they're going to have a couple surprises... anxiously awaiting 1 o'clock.....

Ridiculous !!! The Chase contenders now up to 16 cars from 12 ??? Why not just go ahead and make everyone a Chase contender? Cup Series, Nationwide, Formula One, GoKarts, Snowmobiles. Where the hell does it end? I say leave the Chase at 10 drivers with 2 "wild card" spots leaving it at 12. The ONLY problem with NASCAR is the new Gen6 car. Take the spoilers off the cars and put the "wing" back on 'em like the COTs had a few years back. That'll improve the racing tremendously !!!
 
SB22, After last years "follow the leader project" aka the Daytona 500, something needs to be done with the Gen6 cars. Granted I'm not a fan on the "2 car tango" either, but both the Cup Series & Nationwide Series(to many Cup regulars) were mind numbingly boring last season. I see I wasn't the only one who thought so either. I noticed on the broadcast at several tracks there were alot of folks dressed up like seats last year. The Truck Series was the only thing worth watching last season. :mad:

While I agree last years 500 was a snoozefest... they have worked on the plate package and the following plate races were much better and theyve changed the package again. I think well see some better racing this year on that track type. Also... Baaaahahahhahaaa @ dressed up like seats :D :XXROFL:
 
I love that I found this forum:punkrocke Has anyone heard if Tony has even been back in the car yet or will be ready by the Twins ?

Welcome aboard rookie! I think you have it backwards. Keep the spoiler but take off the splitter.

Little tip - if you can't stand the heat, get off of the track. Enjoy!
