Just curious... why does it matter what channel it's on? You guys get the channel right? If so.. what's the problem?.. if not... contact your cable service provider
Only 36 million homes get FS2, for instance. Motorsports alone don't move the needle enough for providers to pick it up, and almost certainly not for whatever FOX is asking.Just curious... why does it matter what channel it's on? The people at FOX botched SPEED too. It could have been a lot better than what it was right before the transition to FS1.Only issue I can see here is that instead of "Are you faster than a redneck?", Pass time, and Dumbest stuff on wheels... it's other sports? I remember a time when people wouldn't shut up about how all Speed played was Barrett Jackson and Are you faster than a redneck.... whats the matter guys? Can't make up your minds?
......Once again... glad I'm in Canada
I wish they had at least given it a test run in one of the lower series beforehand.Almost seems that Nascae doesnt really care about the NW series much. Pretty obvious where the big bucks are coming from huh ??
I like it just fine.. seems better than what you guys have to deal with..The people at FOX botched SPEED too. It could have been a lot better than what it was right before the transition to FS1.
A lot of it became typical reality TV fluff. I remember years ago when both SPEED and ESPN Classic used to show classic NASCAR races all the time.I like it just fine.. seems better than what you guys have to deal with..

The article also said they had been working on it for over three years. Really, it took over three years to divide the final ten races into three segments of three with a standalone championship race? I need to get myself one of those cushy jobs over in Daytona.
Yep.3 years ????? LMAO
Yep.
Robin Pemberton, NASCAR’s vice president of competition, was as loose as I have ever seen, tossing brickbats at fellow officials and journalists alike.
Some of the more important explanations included the claim that the new Chase points system was more than three years in the making. Bonus points after Richmond count only in the first round of the Chase. Thereafter, pre-Chase bonus points will not be counted after each of the final resets.
Awarding more points to winners, as I would like, was considered and discarded because it might create a runaway situation. In other words, NASCAR didn’t want the Sprint Cup title to be clinched at any point before the series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Nope. If this had anything to do with TV contracts ESPN would still be a partner.maybe if ya fellers tho in tha timin a' long term contracts w/ fox/nbc ....it might make sense ?
prolly not w/ ya'll .

They've been showing NNS and truck races.. no classic though.. just from last season.A lot of it became typical reality TV fluff. I remember years ago when both SPEED and ESPN Classic used to show classic NASCAR races all the time.

Good points. I think MavTV claims to be up to about 27M or so now. They say they are targeting 50M in the next 2 years. Which seems reasonable if they really push this MavTV as Speed Lite angle. Which they appear to be doing. Obviously MavTV isn't gonna get the top tier like Nascar, but they are scooping up a lot of 2nd tier motorsports properties.
The problem, of course, is not that many people want to watch motorsports compared to other things on TV.
Works for me.. we got it better up here anyway... you go be mad at ur TV all you want and say we don't count... I'll be too busy watching The 10 and other shows that aren't basketballcanada don't count !

right now the higher viewer statistics on the all sports Fox 1 and the very small Fox2, are what little Nascar and motosports they show. The stick n ball shows aren't doing squat, one of them had only 7,000 viewers watching. Yeah sometimes they have a program that gets decent ratings, but their bread and butter shows aren't cutting it. They have been unable to woo the herd over to more of the same...different channel
The last paragraph is kinda bol****. Just because one driver can outclass the field doesn't mean that you can come along and just make it so that the driver can't get extra points for wins that him and his team worked all week for. I mean what is the point of winning? Even the drivers wanted wins to count for something other then on the resume. NASCAR has let down drivers and fans. The other paragraphs do make lots of sense.Yep.

They're getting more live events too, which is a must, and DirecTV just picked them up for SD last summer. They've made solid strides recently with the loss of SPEED.Good points. Exactly, they don't want someone to be rewarded for being too consistent and winning too little, while simultaneously gaming the system so that one doesn't get rewarded for "winning too often". That's the definition of artificial. The last paragraph is kinda bol****. You know.. a driver could blow up or wreck and finish dead last SIX TIMES in the chase and still win the cup if he wins the 4 other races.........

I know every season I've watched has come to the final race for the most part... Mark Martin and JJ in 2009, Denny Hamlin in 2010.. Carl and Tony in 2011, BK in 2012 and then this season... unless you call a decent points lead after Phoenix "running away with it." LOLSo if Matt Kenseth would have had a good race at Phoenix last year and not lost so many points none of this would have happened
F-1 had a champion with 4 or 5 races too go and nobody cared. I cant recall any recent "run away seasons" in cup at all.
