I have never watched NASCAR or any unsanctioned stock car racing because other people did or didn't watch it, or if the majority of the "in crowd" thought it was cool. I've watched it because I LOVE IT! Period. I couldn't give two squirts of crap if NASCAR is laying people off, that's life. That happens everyday in America. NASCAR, like most businesses didn't go into business to provide jobs and benefits, they went into business to provide entertainment and make a profit doing it. Businesses sometimes grow, peak and shrink. Especially entertainment businesses. Country music is not as popular as it was twenty years ago, neither is NASCAR or the NFL. So be it. It's still popular with me, and that's all that really matters to me. NASCAR will never be non existent. There's going to be NASCAR races for as far as I can see. Will they leave some venues? Perhaps. Will they return to some former venues? perhaps. Will they try new things? Perhaps. Do I think they're aware that things have changed, and they're working to remedy the problems? Yes I do. Deathbed? Not hardly. Downturn and adjustment time? Yep. End of the world? Nope. Monday morning quarterbacks never lose a game, they're smarter that everyone else. They've never put on a helmet either. NASCAR made some bad choices, what business hasn't? The disco/fad crowd has left, good riddance. In a little over a month, stock car racing fans will be tuning in to Speedweeks. I'll be tuned in, and I could care less if the stands are full, or how big the tv audience is. Over time, the problems NASCAR is facing will work themselves out. I ain't to worried about it. It's entertainment, Period
