Kevin Harvick and Dale Junior to join forces in the Nationwide Series in 2014

Kevin Harvick to run a minimum 12 Nationwide races in 2014 for JR Motorsports.

Kevin Harvick, a two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and winner of 76 races in NASCAR's top three touring divisions, has signed with JR Motorsports and will compete in a minimum of 12 Nationwide Series races in 2014.

Hunt Brothers Pizza, the nation’s largest brand of made-to-order pizza in the convenience store industry, will be the primary sponsor on Harvick’s Chevrolet for four races.

While Harvick’s Nationwide Series schedule for 2014 is still being finalized, the races in which Hunt Brothers Pizza will serve as primary sponsor have been set. The Hunt Brothers Pizza scheme will be featured at Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and both races at Texas Motor Speedway.

Harvick will drive JR Motorsports’ No. 5 Chevrolet – a full-season car traditionally shared by multiple drivers on select-race schedules. The driver line-up for that car beyond Harvick is still being determined.

“This is pretty cool to have Kevin a part of our team,” said owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. “I’ve known him for a long time. He’s an incredible racer. He will be a huge asset to JR Motorsports, our sponsors and our fans. I’m grateful that he wants to drive our cars, and I’m grateful that Hunt Brothers Pizza is committed to Kevin and our race program. We’re happy to have them.”

Harv has flipped over to the other side. I thought he was in recovery from that...oh well some of them have slips I guess. Now Kevin will be called a bully beating up on all those poooor N'wide guys...Oh the heartache. Hunt Brothers where ever ya are? I'm not going to eat a Hunt Pizza whenever Kevin is running the Nationwide, at least I'm not going to tell anybody I am.

Great, more cuppers in Nationwide.

But you are still going to eat Hunt Bros Pizza right? Because it is really Nascar's fault for allowing Hunt Bros Pizzas to sponsor big bullys like Jr and Harvick. We don't need free market..we need socialism by golly.

Socialism would be gov't subsidized pizza for everyone. Eliminating the cup lite organizations would be fair lay, and will help NW become what it once was. A place for new talent to get some wins for THEIR sponsor.

yep partna, the good old days..little venues, and joe bobs car lot for a sponsor. used to read about it the back of open wheel magazine. Grand National and Bush had a couple of columns in the back.

I don't eat Hunt Bros Pizza in the first place. Also, you need to research what socialism is..and what it isn't.

never heard of it myself..until they sponsored Harvick's car..hmm maybe this advertising thing works. bunch of ya haven't been around much racing and know how it works. Used to go to a small motorcycle track a buddy buddy built on his uncle's mined out strip pit in Arkansas. Bunch of hicks having a good time with helmets blue jeans and boots on the weekends. Kept growing until one weekend a bunch of Texans showed up from Dallas with an enclosed trailer with fancy decals, they had all the uniform stuff and bikes that were brand new and they handed us our butts on a platter. the races got bigger and better because they were there. You know when your little track in hickville is drawing the big boys from a long ways away that things are looking up. Run with the big dogs or stay on the porch starts to make sense.

looks real impressive..but the period on the left side is from 17 to 29..not much of a variance. new car somewhere between 21.5 and 24.5. not bad..would like to see one on average speed for the last 6, 7 years

That's in hundreds. Pretty wide range.

They forgot to adjust for tandem racing. Makes it look like nascar didn't like all the passing, so they removed the front braces.

It's interesting that the longer shark fins and higher side skirts made the cars faster...but set the number of GFP's back 5 years.

Standonit is gonna look at that graph again and be like 'ah goddammit!'

Benefit of the doubt.

LOL, in retrospect, I done blowed up.

I drank one too many this afternoon apparently and misunderstood that whole conversation, let alone graphs.

I was like "hundredths? That doesn't even make sense, and 17 to 29 passes a race? That seems low but hey! Stats!"

Oops my bad.:owquitit:

Ha, I believe it's basically saying the gen 6 is tenfold better than the gen 4 was. Also, the turnbuckles and DTM-style splitter destroyed the racing potential of the car of tomorrow. Interesting..

I have no clue as to how much the tandem draft affected GFP's...

Tell the Gopher what the truth really is, he can't seem to get through his furry little brain.

Ooo, very nice! I wonder if the #3 will be coming back to Sprint Cup anytime soon...or is that his Sprint Cup ride?
That's Ty's Nationwide ride for next year. Austin is bringing the #3 back next year in Cup. We've already got a complaint thread on that somewhere down below. Maybe a page back or so.

Not enough change, IMO. Why won't nascar let them go flat like everyone else? Or is Ford the problem?
