I wonder if Hass will sponsor Kurt for 2018 if Monster doesn't, at least until another sponsors can be acquired?

Probably depends on how much smithfield is spending....and if anyone else stays/steps ups or anyone else comes along.
 
I would of rather had Kurt in the 21 than Menard, but Menard comes with sponsorship
IMO Menard should just take the Elliott Sadler route and go back to Xfinity where he can be successful. He's fared well in the races I've seen him in. He'd probably be a championship contender in one of the Penske Xfinity cars which would still work for the Ryan Blaney sponsorship.

At least Menard can bring the sponsorship to keep the #21 on track, idk who else could've garnered that sponsorship.

Believe that Menard is better than you think...how many Brickyard's has Kurt won again? I say, give Menard a chance in top notch equipment instead of the hand me downs in a nepotismal organization.

Imagine running--or being any part of--a Cup team, and having to wait until January to know if you have a primary sponsor or not?!
it was December but Monster pushed it back one month for reasons I am not recalling right now.
 
Matt Kenseth’s only focus is on this season and moving on in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

The veteran driver will leave Joe Gibbs Racing at season’s end and has not yet announced what his plans are for 2018. Kenseth has chosen to concentrate on his last five races with JGR and finishing well enough in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway to stay alive in the playoff picture.

"Nothing beyond right now," Kenseth said Friday at Kansas Speedway when asked if he had any announcement about next year. "We've got a lot to do, yet, in 2017. I'm not worried that much about next year."

Valid point, but in that case instead of going in house at Penske, Blaney could have stayed with the Woods and Menard could fight it out with JRM and JGR in Xfinity for the championship. That's neither here nor there, I just think Paul is better suited in that series based on what I've seen thus far, who knows, he could surprise us in 2018.
 
Very few people are interested in demoting themselves. Elliott Sadler went down there so he could eat.

I'm just saying I think he'd have a legitimate shot at success and I feel that's where his skill level is. I'm not going to get into the money vs. success debate, because only Paul knows which is more important to him.

Most people would worry about the possibility of being unemployed in a month or so - unless they're planning to retire ;)

Kurt has 29 CUP wins... menard has 4 wins in all 3 national series...

I don't mind menard but there are much deserving drivers of the 21

People who's annual income has been 10 plus million for the last decade or so are unlikely to be worried about unemployment.

He must have some concern for money or he wouldn't demand 8 million to drive.

Perhaps he simply thinks that’s what his experienced services are worth, irrespective of current economics in his sport.

That being said, Menard, as some one else stated, will only run with the big dogs. Otherwise he will go sit on the proverbial porch. Along with almost 18% of the total car sponsorship money in ALL OF NASCAR.

Now think who is more important to NASCAR...Kurt or Paul. Does Kurt or his family sponsor multiple teams in all the venues of NASCAR? And keep this in mind, all those sponsors that are also a vendor to one named Menard, are only in NASCAR because he wants them to. Again, do not take this the wrong way, have always thought highly of Kurt's ability to wheel a car and he just might be a tad better than Paul. We should be able to find that out next year...but we would never know unless Paul drives a competitive car.

The menard family is definitely important to racing I'll give you that. Sittin here drinkin a cold beer watching the arca series presented by menards.

We'll find out what menard is made of next year. Blaney has shown how much potential that car has.

What is your source for that shocking statistic? Something like that definitely needs credible support and attribution.

Sorry, Kurt is light-years faster than Paul. It would not surprise me if Paul fails to top Blaney's success in the Wood Brothers car.

Lets keep in mind that Blaney went to WB with a competent team in place. I have no idea how well Paul will fit in with his new crew.
 
This is because most of Blaney's #21 crew is following him to the #12, right?
Yes. Penske sent the #22 Xfinity team to WB's with Blaney and that team is now moving in house
at Penske shop. Team Penske has never had a team in Xfinity that has been able to beat JGR since. ( I mean consistently)
 
I imagine Penske will provide competent people to crew Menard’s cars.

It’s up to his crew chief to turn them all into a team.
