Still waiting Eillot's win

I am taking shots at his fans and the media. He's been hyped up for the past decade as the future greatest of all time. So far, that hasn't panned out, yet I still read on here how he's going to be a GOAT.

To me, Chase Elliott is just like the movie Black Panther. Very good but very overrated at the same time.

I guess my problem is I don't spend a whole lot of time (other than here) listening to fans spout off or hearing the media prattle on day after day looking to hit on a big story, because I just haven't seen all of this over hyping you speak of. As a second generation driver on a high profile team, Chase IS very popular and I think a lot of people (myself included) have high hopes, but I don't know about hype. I'm not sure what people expect from a 22 year old kid driving cars that his 7 time champion teammate struggles to get good finishes with. If his teammates were regularly outperforming him, as was the case for most of Dale Jr's tenure at HMS I would agree with you, but they're NOT, and it's pretty clear that the car is what is holding him back, so I think it's short sighted to think ANYBODY is over hyped in that situation.

Case in point, any driver who comes from a famous Nascar driver is going to be welcomed with open arms into the sport and is going to be a big story, probably going to be a star if they are halfway decent, and anybody who doesn't realize that needs to learn it.

Man, Chase Elliott fans are worse than Gordon's fans were. I even said that the Camaro is a turd and, if it wasn't, Chase would have a win by now. But apparently I'm just bashing him.

I'm the farthest thing from an Elliott fan. I couldn't be any happier to see the Hendrick cars struggle as I've had to watch them dominate the sport basically for my entire life. I just think the kid deserves a fair shot and I think he's a good guy.

No new driver has really set the world on fire in the Cup series. Larson would be the closest thing and he is winless in 20 something races. Suarez hasn't won, Erik Jones hasn't won, Bowman hasn't won, Byron hasn't won, Ryan Blaney is winless in forever.

This has been the worst NASCAR season I can remember watching, and a major reason are these young drivers not being able to challenge the old guard. Someone please teach these guys how to drive a car well enough to beat 42 year old Kevin Harvick. He should be in a rocking chair by now like Jimmie Johnson.

Blaney isnt winless, he won one the Pocono's races last year, Larson has 5 wins.

Elliott is over-served by his fans and by his detractors.

None of it will have anything to do with when he wins and how often he does that.

The guy has been the most consistent Chevy driver as of late. I will not be surprised at all if he should be the one to end Chevy's little wins drought.

Hate to tell you but I think Harvick is just getting started my man, he could keep this level up for at least another 2-3 years. That 4 team and Rodney have built something special

Not a fan of Harvick but when you think on how well he did over the years in RCR cars
and now having Tony as his boss, I don't see him running outside the top 5 for a few more years.

RCR and RFR are about the same when it comes to being at the top of their game. The affiliate teams are starting to outrun them. I can see both teams losing Ford and GM Sponsorship money and then going to "never never land". Shame.
I think RFR is only being considered because of the engine package and that could change soon.

Damn, thats funny :XXROFL::XXROFL::XXROFL::XXROFL::XXROFL::XXROFL:

Us Chase fans in a nutshell

When Larson won first, it was understandable due to the extra seat time in cup. Then Dillon won, but it was fuel mileage, and buescher was rain, Stenhouse wrecked his way to two wins, but Blaney used strategy. And Dillon was going to win the 500 regardless who he had run over. And jones just schooled last year’s champion with a brilliant final two laps. He could have just sat on truexes bumper until turn four and did that half assed pass attempt that never works, but he was hungry and knew winning Daytona requires putting the car in the front well before the final lap. I don’t know anymore about chase. I figured as long as he beat jones and ty Dillon to the podium, but the few chances he’s had, it seems like he is more content in either riding around or being pushed around. At this point, he might not even be able to match Kyle Petty’s career wins total.

Huge win for Erik, he's had a so so season but thank god he got the first win so we don't have to hear about that anymore. The biggest issue with Chase is that Hendrick fans are spoiled and immediately expected him to be the next JG, JJ, which is just silly. They were very lucky to find the goat right after Jeff Gordon and to expect chase to be that good is asinine. He's a Dale Jr, Clint Bowyer level driver and will be really consistent and win some races once he gets the monkey off his back.

Well that’s good. I’m sure it had to do with the whole he drives a Toyota reason but I’m not knocking the dude. I like Erik a lot, I think he’s a future Cup Champion and will win more of these races

In the spirit of the thread, would Chase take it? Thank you, and please come again.

I wouldn't know, I don't take personal credit for teams or brands winning like some do, or fantasize about what they are or not thinking. :idunno:

With humble apologies to most of Elliott’s fans.

Posted for just 1 of them

It's a damn shame you refuse to share the name of your favorite driver. And we all know that you have one.

I don't know about Jones schooling anybody, he got a very long and determined push from Buescher that got Jones out front, and he made the most of it.

I didn't ask I you knew, I asked about what you thought? You do think don't you?

oh you want my thought? My thought was it was a stupid question it didn't make any sense. Elliott wasn't in my post.

Stupidity was congruent to the original post then. I will help you. Erik Jones doesn't give a **** about how he won. He ****** won. Chase Elliott would give at least one of his two danglers for the same thing. You know enough about racing to know that. Chase is the standard for the young guns, and Jones exceeded it.

Pretty sure Chase had the horse to win an 8 car race had he survived to that point. Kid gets caught up in everyone else's **** every July while others like Jones, Stenhouse, and Dillon have golden horseshoes shoved up their asses when it comes to Daytona. If we want to compare their careers I don't think anyone would look at Erik and say he's been better. And it's not really even close.

anybody can win a plate race, no disrespect to the Jones boy, but they also drive that way. It should be called the summer survivor race.

you seem to look at anything posted as an affront to your way of looking at things. So much so that you miss most of the points that people are trying to make. To re explain my original post another way..ALL drivers in the summer Daytona race drive like there is no tomorrow bring back nothing but the steering wheel. Anybody can win attitude and driving styles..thus Summer survivor race.

I am not talking about who is better or the quality of win. Erik won. Chase hasn't.

I’ve never been asked. I guess I’m not effusive enough in my fanboyism. I have more than one. In order:

Blaney
Kyle DeeBusch
Kenseth
Kahne
Biffle (ret.)

Autocorrect prefers Boggle.

Chase needs a better car this year. He's stuck driving a Hendrick slug. A 7 time champion can't get the car to run up front. He's proven when given a good car he can run very well. When Hendrick gets its act together, I'd say Chase will start clicking off wins. A breakout year can come at any time.
