Subway out!

If they are like drink beverages anything that is edible is a competitor.
And FWIW we used to stop early on race mornings and load up with Subway Subs, probably around 7 or 8 am. They could be ate when purchased and they were great for dropping in the cooler, and eating at the track. It was a cheaper alternative to track food, with no lines and missed race time, either.
Last of all, I would take a Sub over a doughnut almost anytime. Doughnuts are more like getting nutrition from a bag of cheetos.

I'm sure they tasted about the same after being in the cooler for eight hours as they were when you bought them. The doughnuts may not be very nutritious, but at least they taste good.

Lol, on a spicy italian (still talking subs) putting enough oil on them and marinating about 8 hours worked well for me. Just make sure there are plenty of napkins.

Thanks Daniel Suarez. You ran off a sponsor who has been on cars for atleast the past 12 or 13 years, honestly probably a lot longer than that.
Yeah, I'm sure Suarez woke up one morning and asked himself, "How can I piss off one of my sponsors to the point they'll leave? Hey, I know, I'll help give away a product, one that will take a couple of dozen people several days to see how they're competing!"

The key to throwing them in the cooler is to not have any sauces, dressings, or other forms of liquid put on when they're made. Instead, carry some squeeze packets of condiments.

That is how I grab lunch on out of town trips, but with Publix subs. Much more enjoyable at a rest stop with picnic tables than randomly getting off interstate looking for something.

My dream would be to have Firehouse pick Daniel up for the race Subway pussed out on (Dega I think), have Daniel win, get out of the car on the track interview, grab his crotch, and say in Spanish something to the effect of, "How do you like me now you Subway bitches?!"....you know, kind of Kyle Busch-ize him.

Really classy.

Wawa is the only good place to get a...the correct pronunciation is hogie.

I am not the least surprised that Subway wanted to leave JGR and used the doh!-nut-gate as the excuse for doing so.

There's no doubt Subway was disappointed to have Suarez instead of Edwards. But to use the Dunkin Donuts bit as an excuse to leave is ridiculous.

Marcus Lemonis said that he would take the race Subway dropped. Possible Camping World/Gander Mtn/Overton's JGR partnership incoming?

When we'd head down for speed weeks we would load up a cooler with deli meats and use the frozen blue ice pacs.

Ah but it is so much better when you can just take one out of the cooler and munch. I have a cooler that has a compartment on top of it just right for a sandwich.

It was a four race deal (much smaller than previous years), while every dollar counts...it really is chicken feed (as compared to losing Dollar General).

We have a small chain here, D'Angelo's. The #9, shaved steak w/ cheese, 'rooms, peppers, and onions. Yummy.
Pat, the only time we stopped is for gas. It's 1200 miles from here to Daytona and at 70 mph we're there in under 18 hours. Road Dog was Ricks Winny and outfitted with aux tanks. Ol' Blue was my GMC and the tow vehicle, Blue carried Camper Special tanks, two 24 gallon tanks liberated from a wreck. . Both could go close to 500+ miles before we needed to gas up but usually 400 miles was the norm. We'd switch drivers ''on the fly''.
Any guys will small bladders rode in the Winny and were mocked unmercifully.

Gad we had a ball on those trips back then
