Tony Stewart running over someone?

I really don't think Tony is going to be making decisions about tomorrow. Since he was a party to the death of another person, he might be stuck in a jail cell for a little while. Parking the car does seem logical though. Who in the world could you find on this short of notice anyway?
Eh, Nationwide raced there yesterday. Gene Haas could get Sam Hornish Jr or Reagan Smith on the phone in a hurry.

I bet the #14 races with a stand-in driver tomorrow. Sponsor commitments.

When it was revealed Aaron Hernandez was killing people, The Pat's weren't forfeiting games..

How are the situations alike exactly? The pats didn't know what Hernandez was doing and they didn't have to talk about Hernadez killing someone the previous day and then play a game.

Sam Hornish. He was there Friday doing fox broadcasts, and may still be there. However I hope the 14 gets loaded up and sent back to Charlotte tomorrow morning.

Because it involves one of their drivers possibly killing someone. Intentional or not its gonna be ****storm.

Dont you think you should know for a fact if Kevin indeed did pass away before saying it?, he is listed as being in seriousness condition

They aren't exactly alike. But similar.

You said NASCAR shouldn't race because a driver might have killed someone...

When the news broke the Patriots still played.. Should the Pat's play if a player kills someone?

We all are getting way off course.

ummm holy crap. the reason the front of the car turned to the right is because the guys body actually pulled the front that way. it WASN"T the back tire that hit this kid it was the right front. thats why it was such a terrible thing and well he got drug. tony stewart is done with his racing career. I also predict that youtube video will get pulled.
I believe you are right.

If Kevin is permanently injured, or worse, Tony will be traumatized for the rest of his life. This is awful for both parties. How will SHR fair? Tony's fans must be devastated.

I can't believe that video is still up. I've seen a lot of ****** up **** but that was freaking heinous...

That gopro video really tells the tale I bet. I'm happy Law Enforcement has it and the public doesn't.

I personally feel like they shouldn't but the chiefs did when Jovan Belecher killed his girlfriend and himself.. It just doesn't feel right to me if Nascar races tomorrow. Do a press conference, then race Monday.

Not absolving Stewart of blame, in fact I think he should be done racing after a stunt like that.

But that kid was so ridiculously stupid right there. Running out intot he middle of the damn track? Are you kidding me? It's almost unbelievable. But I don't doubt he learned that exact thing from watching Tony Stewart and the hot heads in NASCAR.

NASCAR needs to take a stand, 1 against Stewart and 2 against that. If a driver gets out of his car on the track or infield area, if he doesn't walk right to the ambulance/appropriate ride that driver should be parked for 5 races. Because what happened tonight partly happened because kids (and make no mistake he is just a kid) think it is alright to do it cause they see the superstars and their heroes doing it. Enough is enough of that garbage.

Ugh....RIP

It's a horrible situation for everyone. For Kevin Ward and his family, for Tony Stewart, his fans, SHR, and just fans of Motorsports in general. No doubt Tony will have nightmares about that forever. I just hope that kid will be okay. God this freaking sucks:(

Totally agree with this. This could and should have been prevented.

Wish I didn't watch that video now.

But I see no way Nascar cancels to race tomorrow. Tony is not going to be there tomorrow no way he can be without Nascar facing major backlash. I expect a full segment in the pre-race tomorrow about it. Also I must say how many times have we seen drivers run on to the track to show displeasure with another driver? Ward Burton I remember doing it, Kurt Busch ran right into the middle of the track to show Jimmy Spencer what he thought. Even earlier today during the Nationwide race JJ Yeley walked onto the track. All of these drivers put there lives at risk, and while I am not going to say who is at fault in this accident because that gas and swerve Stewart did, does not look good for him. I think it was bound to happen someday, and I pray for this kids health and for his family, but could you imagine the backlash had this been a national televised race and a driver was struck on live tv?

I've watched video several times and this is my take. The guy runs at Tony's car, Tony(being his usual hot head self) tried to scare him with a little gun of the engine but the car jumped up into him. Anyone that thinks any driver would intentionally run down another driver has issues. That's my take, and last post on this.

So Danica and GoDaddy are likely gone. Harvick and Bud are likely to follow.

If Tony becomes an issue with sponsors Haas will just buy him out. My guess is Rick will step in and help some how. Possibly by giving Haas chase Elliott. SHR is as important to HMS as the 48, 24, 88, and 5 are.

Yeah, that's what I saw too. Sprint cars have a lot of back end torque. The back end jumped out and caught the kid.

RIP Kevin Ward, thoughts and prayers to his family
