Stewarts name has been trending on all social media. That video will be viral in 24 hours at the speed its going (if not taken down) & theres no doubt that news stations across the country will air this story and people will go looking for the video. It may have well have been televised.
 
And back to Tony Stewart, this is what happens when you don't learn your damn lesson. I'm not a religious person, but the broken leg is damn sure looking like it was a sign. Stay the hell away.

Cost his stable a ton of money with the crash last year and then may have destroyed the business with a crash this year...all because the idiot couldn't be a professional and kept stooping down to the minor leagues with amateur drivers.

He may never want to anyway. Accident or not I can't imagine the mental toll of killing another driver on the track. Especially in that manner.

This sucks all around... Don't know how anyone can salvage a career out of this... The NASCAR world is going to be shocked when they wake up for race day in a few hours....
 
Dont expect an interview from Tony tomorrow on what happened

I'm sure there are lots of sleepless folks in NASCAR management tonight. Same with ESPN. Lot of scrambling going on right now.

Because he's a hot head and wanted to scare the kid.

Tony, ironically, the guy who bitched at the reporter for asking if fans liked crashes, basically tried to intimidate somebody with a 1400 pound 700 hp sprint car.
 
Tony's sprint car team might be ****** too. This wrecks alot of peoples lives, foremost the Ward Family.

May his family & Stewart eventually find some sliver of a peace of mind.

I pray the Ward's don't hate Stewart for this incident. Truly a tragedy on both of their parts - and a rare one at that.

Sick of racing sports only creating rules after a driver dies. Im sure NASCAR will address the new "ward-stewart rule" in the drivers meeting tomorrow.

The best thing that could've happened for NASCAR is for Stewart to be arrested. Now, he's on his way to Watkins Glen. If he races tomorrow, this will be a historic PR disaster.
 
I expect NASCAR to announce that they're suspending Stewart indefinitely as a means to keep him out of the car until more info comes out.
 
I cannot believe for one minute that stewart did this intentionally/ they need to put a halt to guys jumping out of their cars to run after another driver like this, I'm surprised something like this hasn't already happened with as much of this as we see/ I can only assume that either the track or a fan would have this on film?

for a split second, who knows what Tony was thinking, it sure doesn't look like he was trying to avoid him.

If can armchair lawyer it for a second, with Ward running towards the car like that, Tony will be able to hire good enough lawyers to put reasonable doubt in the mind of a jury. No criminal charges but he will dish out millions in a civil case.

I don't see how NASCAR lets that happen and I don't see how Tony argues with the decision to park him..

Yes, thadbrown7 on Twitter is sports director at a local TV station. He was at the press conference and reported that the sheriff confirmed that Ward was dead when EMS arrived.

For the criminal trial, all you need is reasonable doubt. The video MAY supply that but the standard for Man 2 in NY is "reckless" and Tony may have a hard time overcoming THAT.

Keep in mind that the DA was probably asleep when this all happened. He will review the evidence and decide what to do.

I have seen enough to conclude it has been, when nascar reporters say it is, I believe them. this sport is pretty darn close knit. and the reporters are straight laced. this is freaking terrible I can't imagine being tony, no way does he mean to hit that kid. The kid simply caught tonys FRONT wheel not the back.
 
Poorly lit track, driver in a black outfit, who charged in his direction. It's terrible but that's enough evidence to prove accidental. I'm not defending Tony before someone says it.

To get away possibly? Split second reaction decision? Intimidation? I dont think anybody will know for certain unless Stewart talks.

Either way, we wouldnt be talking about this if Ward didnt climb out of his car & walk down the track onto the groove like a complete idiot. Too much adrenaline to think straight.

Sure Tony right now is saying he will race, but that probably is before he has talked to anyone at Nascar or SHR. No way in hell he races tomorrow.
 
I think after the investigation is over and the facts are in that we may be a little surprised how this may all turn out.

at this point tony probably takes a deal and does some time just to put this deal away. I don't see him fighting it with a trial. This is going to turn the sport upside down. WHY because SHR will not be called that anymore. This is a possible manslaughter charge.
 
Stewart isn't going to sleep for days, how the hell would he possibly race tomorrow?
