Tony Stewart running over someone?

That was horrible to watch.... No way in hell Stewart meant to run that poor kid over. He stopped immediately afterwards. It looked like Ward got to close and Tony caught him with his rear tire. What a horrible accident.
 
It looked to me like the kid was running towards Tonys car and Tony gassed it to try and get away so that he wouldn't hit the kid but the back of the car slid out. Bad deal for both of them. The kid should have just stayed in his car.:(

No they weren't but he certainly bounced a long way. I've seen guys tumble like that after accidents in MotoGP/World Superbike but that was particularly violent.

you know for sure we will see better camera angles .....and Stewart definitely hit the gas. But for what reason?
 
Thoughts and prayers with Kevin Ward and his family. I feel horrible for Tony Stewart as well. No matter how this turns out, he will have to live with what happened the rest of his life. Ugly, ugly, ugly ass moment for Motorsports.
 
After seeing that, Nascar will have to cancel the race tomorrow. Can't see any other way.. I know it doesn't matter but still.

Perhaps he was trying to spin the tires the other way, to avoid him with the right rear, you can see the car point up the track at about the moment of impact... It all looks very suspect but it might actual have meant to go the opposite direction.

You could tell his back and pelvis were crushed or at least broken. His torso was facing the opposite way of his legs... God it's sad even talking about it...

The kid probably stepped infront of the car & Tony needed an exit route. Tony zigged one way & Kevin zigged the same way - 50/50 chance & stepped the wrong way. Just my speculation.

It didn't look as if Ward was advancing into the center of the track anymore....but like I say we'll get more footage

Um, no, NASCAR does not need to cancel the race tomorrow, why should they cancel the race tomorrow?

It looked like he realized he ran into no-mans land and try and retreat.

I will bet you there will be a Nascar race tomorrow...but, i doubt Tony will be in it.

Because it involves one of their drivers possibly killing someone. Intentional or not its gonna be ****storm.
 
Bottom line the kid shouldn't have been out there like that.

Oh ya lets walk onto the middle of the track with cars with razor blades welded on top of them zooming by at 50 mph.

I know that sounds harsh but I dont fking get it. Hope he's alive & gets well.

If NASCAR postpones the race then we get Watkins Glen as the season finale in late November.

Upstate NY in late November is a pretty cold place.

This was exactly my take from it. It looked like Ward ran out into the racing groove to meet Tony, realized he was too close, tried to retreat. All the while Tony maneuvered his car one way and caught him with his rear tire. Awful awful incident. Hope Kevin Ward will be okay..

ummm holy crap. the reason the front of the car turned to the right is because the guys body actually pulled the front that way. it WASN"T the back tire that hit this kid it was the right front. thats why it was such a terrible thing and well he got drug. tony stewart is done with his racing career. I also predict that youtube video will get pulled.

I really don't think Tony is going to be making decisions about tomorrow. Since he was a party to the death of another person, he might be stuck in a jail cell for a little while. Parking the car does seem logical though. Who in the world could you find on this short of notice anyway?
