Tony Stewart running over someone?

I wonder if Tony is going to end up regretting saying that he's going to bust Joey Logano's ass. That's strong evidence of aggression that can be used against him.

Yeah, he has no chance in a civil case. There are 15 years of his temper available on YouTube.

Well. Theres one less driver we can talk about making the chase.

Seriously, though, what are the odds Tony gets jail time out of this for manslaughter?

the video looks really bad because it looks like tony turns into the kid. people say the back kicked out, I am not seeing that in the video. people will see it look like tony turned into the guy. an entire organization like SHR being turned upside down in a totality we can't even understand at this point. that is a nuclear bomb in the sport.

If they race tomorrow, its gonna be really awkward watching..

Not for me, unless Tony Stewart is racing.

Stewart's recklessness and a kids stupid decision is tragic, but it certainly doesn't change much about NASCAR to me.

But I guess I'm just assuming Tony Stewart is done.

I say very low. Tony can hire good lawyers. Ward was running towards a moving car on a race track. Enough to put reasonable doubt in a jury's mind.

Its just not fair. Why that 17 year old boy & not some dumb terrorist who cant properly work a mortar?

If this happened at Daytona, the sport would never recover imo.
They will, and it will be incredibly uncomfortable.

"Here's Marcos Ambrose in Victory lane! Great win Marcos, you're in the chase, how does it feel?"

"It feels great Jerry. The guys gave me a great car today..."

yeah..

i think he does get time, not sure what charges tho, but yes i think he gets jail time.

The video it looks like Tony turned into him, but that's probably just cause the guy got sucked into the wheel, right?

The video looks horrible, though.

He didn't even die in a "racing accident". I mean, it would still be tragic, of course, but it wasn't like he died due to actual RACING, just more of this petty WWE pushing and shoving bull****.

This whole thing is FUBAR. :(

My roommate is sleeping right now and has to work tomorrow. He's a bigger race fan then me.. well at least Nascar and he likes Tony.. I don't have the heart to wake him up.
You are a good roommate.

It's always the good people who are taken/effected most by tragedy in this world. Never the polluters and the vermin who deserve what's coming to them it seems.

SportingNews article:

Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer and friend of Ward's, told Sporting News in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything that happened.

"Tony pinched him into the frontstretch wall, a racing thing," Graves said. "The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down. Kevin got out of his car. … He was throwing his arms up all over the place at Tony for most of the corner.

"I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards."

I don't think anybody from SHR will have a lot to say tomorrow.

I think NASCAR should honestly give them the option of parking their cars for the race and not penalize them for Chase reasons. This is a pretty damn big event and they would understandably need time to figure out the next step.

c'mon him walking to and throwing helmet at Kenseth shows Tony should know of this type of behavior

To be fair, he died on arrival to the hospital. He was still alive in the clip. But still :(
That is not true either, that just means that they didnt pronounce at the scene.

That wasnt 50 yards. More like 10. I call BS on this eye witness acct.

here is another thought, what is this going to do with other drivers retaliating against each other. I predict we don't see it anymore, AND nascar will come down hard on it. remember when brad got flipped by carl, what if brad had gotten hurt bad or worse yet killed. Nascar will not put up with drivers being aggresive anymore like that. which IMO takes away from the sport. YES this is going to change the sport. nascar will react to it just like that did after richmond last year. Drivers actions after a wreck will be the focus.

Here's Stewart doing exactly what Ward did (except with more aggression). Luckily, Irwin was able to stop when Stewart decided to put himself in danger.

It will be interesting to see how tight lipped both the espn broadcast and nascar big wigs may be tomorrow.
