2017-18 Fall/Winter Weather Thread

36 degrees and clear skies but it's pretty breezy. It's supposed to get up to 53 and its going to be a really nice day.

A snow squall just came through and laid down enough to cover the ground white. Unfortunately that little drizzling rain has turned to ice under the snow.

Chilly morning after Christmas. Brrr.

Next long range 10 day forecast has it not reaching above 20 with temps in the single digits and below zero at night. Global warming? I think not.
Yeah, it's winter alright. I could go for a little global, or even regional, warming right now.....

This is interesting.....

Yesterday, we got a few inches of snow to give us our white Christmas. Just saw on the news that Erie PA, about 90 miles to our north, got 34 inches of snow yesterday. A single day record snowfall for that area. They are expecting an additional 6-10 today into tonight.

Holy moly.

I know it's much colder elsewhere, but we're sitting at 20 degrees right now which is suppose to be our high for the day. Warmer weather would for sure be nice. Friday and Saturday are suppose to be low 40's, which sounds great right now.

7 degrees at the moment, rather balmy considering next 5 days or so it is supposed to be in the negative at night.

Wednesday, December 27, 2017; Englewood, Florida.
Current temp. at 8:23 a.m. - 68 degrees.
Sunny.
High today near 80 degrees.

Warmed up to 17° { need a teeth chattering emogy}

It's kinda funny though..... We live fairly close to Erie relatively speaking and while we have snow on the ground, I can still see the top of some of the grass poking through. What a difference a little latitude makes. Changes in latitude, changes in attitude. :D
I just looked up lake effect snow and it's a bitch. I knew that it was a thing but not how bad it could be. Holy smokes. The report on what you were talking about is unbelievable.

Yeah, that southeast side of Erie, and I'm sure the other Great Lakes, gets hammered with snow. In my location, just south of I-80, we are on the edge of what many times is the 'lake effect' snow system. While it is hit and miss for us, it's all 'hit' for them. I'm okay with that.

49 overcast and on and off drizzle here. Miserable weather.

4 here right now with -12 windchill, could be worse, could be at the summer place in Caratunk Me., -16 with -38 windchill.

A Motel 6 in Moosenuts Me. isn't a ''summer place'' IMHO.
